Monster Hunter on Switch could be fun. The only third party game I've really enjoyed on Switch over other options was Witcher 3. It kinda looked janky but ran fine. Idk why it didn't click on Xbox but I 100%'d SWitcher!

Nintendo's still my favorite, and will be forever. I've got everything except PS5. Didn't see any point in getting one since every game I wanted on it also came to PS4, which I own.

My wife wants a PS5 for the new Monster Hunter, because she doesn't want to play it on Xbox or Nintendo's next console, so we'll probably get one soon so as to avoid the higher prices due to Trump's tariffs.

Back in the day, console wars were fierce. What are you gaming on these days? Anyone still feel like their favorite is "right" and everyone else is "wrong?"

I'm fortunate enough to have all four major platforms. I'll be a Nintendo gamer until I'm no longer a gamer - or at least until Pokemon is gone or multi-platform.

For my first higher end console this cycle I went with the Xbox Series X mostly due to availability, but GamePass is/was also a great bonus. I put a lot of hours into Forza Horizon, Mass Effect Trilogy/Andromeda, Cyberpunk 2077, and Red Dead Redemption 1/2. I haven't actually played on my Series X for a long time now - definitely only sparsely since getting a PS5 and building a decent gaming PC.

Once the PS5 was easier to find, I grabbed one and immediately chugged through God Of War/GoW Ragnarok, Horizon ZD and FW, and The Last Of Us 1/2. The quality of these franchises so far outpaces the Xbox exclusives in my opinion that I feel pretty confident I would get a theoretical PS6 before any new Microsoft offering next gen. The Astro Bot demo was great too (thanks netman for letting me experience the controller features for the first time!) and I'll eventually get the newer full game.

But all three of those options are kind of secondary to running games on my PC lately. For one thing, the consoles are in a shared room and the kids tend to have Fortnite or Minecraft on all afternoon and evening So it's much easier for me to sit in the same spot I'm at all day anyway and boot up Starfield (PC Gamepass), Fallout 76, or Cyberpunk (re-purchased for PC convenience). My thermals aren't great sometimes which makes me hesitate to do long sessions but I do want to switch to a new case and AIO eventually. One of the biggest pros to a traditional console is that there's no CPU temp monitor on the device itself to give me constant anxiety
