Relatively recent releases I've enjoyed most include Astronoid's Star God, A Pale White Dot from Periphery, Karnivool's In Verses, and Protest The Hero's Within.

These are just artists/albums that are in my everyday listening.

However, I still keep some of the classics in rotation.

I was never that much into Dream Theater during the heydays of VGC. I really tried, but just couldn't do it. I was super into metal and such during those early days, but faded away from it as so many of those dudes turned out to be the types I don't want to associate with, separate art and artist and all that.

I have an old MP3 player still that I keep around that has a ton of nostalgic music, lots of one-hit-wonders that I'll reminisce. I made a few playlists through the years that were like, "Songs That Remind Me Of..." and there's even a few of the people here on VGC on those lists. Some songs are as little as 3 songs long, others are hundreds of songs, all that I try to keep out of my normal playlists 'cause I'm not in the mood to feel super sad and miss those old friends.

I'll throw some of these into my lists to listen. I have a ton of freedom during the workday to do whatever I need, so I'll check out anything listed here as I've done on the other music thread.
