What's everybody switching to now that Google is trash?

Google is going all-in on AI and shaftng their consumers en masse, so I'm trying alternatives.

Brave is the first one I tried and has turned out to be little better than Google both for browsing and searches, so I need to try something else.

Samsung is also ending their messaging app on their phones and shuffling everyone into Google's, so I've switched my texting app to Textra, which seems fine.

    Anyone else changing things up?

Good question. I've been on Firefox for probably a few years now and for search my default has been DuckDuckGo for probably around a year. I do find myself doing the same search back in google frequently when duckduckgo doesn't give me what I want, but it's not usually any better the second try. But I've been an Android user since the start and have a couple GoogleTVs. I'm on YouTube daily. Really feels inescapable without a ton of extra work (and that's a hard sell for the rest of the household anyway).

I made the switch from Chrome to Firefox ~10 years ago. I stopped using Google search about 8 years ago for Bing and DuckDuckGo. I still use Gmail, I'm not sure I can get out of that as it's genuinely perfect. I hope that doesn't end up being integrated with AI, also.

My search results from DDG has been alright. It's not stellar, but I will take it without the AI.
