Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down.

Gang, let's face it; we're getting older. The ol' gray mare she ain't what she used to be. But with aging and growing, some things are better than others.

I'll start with a lowlight. It seems like there's never enough time. Maybe in my younger years I shirked my life's duties considerably more, but, today, there's so much that needs to be done and so much I want to do and it doesn't seem like there's ever going to be enough time in the day. The routine of each day takes up 90% of the day, leaving only a little wiggle room for the fun that is needed to not get that sense of burnout. Getting older, all the cleaning and other home care feels way more valuable than it did as a young man, and I have this need to do clean stuff up that I didn't have before.

The first highlight to come to mind is that I have gotten more comfortable with the way I look while aging. Don't get me wrong, I don't think I'm a handsome guy, and I think ain't ever gonna be, but the bit of white hair I've developed has at least made me feel that I look distinguished and interesting. Well, at least up until I started keeping it shaved bald. But I've been growing it back, and I'm seeing a bit more salt than when I first started shaving, and I am feeling really good about it.

What have been your highlights and lowlights as you've grown older?
