    Where Are My Clothes Going?!

About 20 years ago, I went to a thrift store and purchased a ton of shirts and pants. With only a few exceptions, all those clothes have managed to stay with me to this day. They all still fit alright, and are part of my daily wear when I'm working from home. Early this morning, I was looking for a particular black shirt, and I'm going nuts because it's one I really like. It's lightweight, perfect for warm weather. I spent every break from work trying to find this shirt. When I got off work, I go through laundry baskets, even checking my wife's closet area, then my daughter's. I'm totally perplexed,

After hours, I ask my wife if maybe she has thrown away some of my old T-shirts, and she denies it, so I'm back to nothing.

Then my daughter hears me ranting about my clothes missing, and comes out of her room with this big goofy smirk on her face, wearing my darn shirt.

I go to her room, and she's taken a dozen of my shirts and squirreled them away under her bed. Transformers, Mighty Mouse, Donald Duck, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Queen, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Dirt, Invader Zim, etc. all shirts nearly twice her age.

Now I'm torn. On one hand, they're mine, I didn't give her permission to wear them. On the other hand, it's kinda funny and adorable she's interested in my style. And on a third hand that we all obviously have and it's you who is weird not me, I'm worried I have the same tastes as an 11-year-old girl. Does that mean I'm... trendy? In my near hoarding style?

(Cropped faces as I'm a little gunshy of sharing after all these years, and don't wanna put the kid's face on the 'net yet. Maybe after I get my bearings.)

Everything old is new again. You either die hip or live long enough to break one.

my mom wears my shirts from my teenage years still. and my kids even wore some clothes from when I was little until they grew out of them. I have held on to some shirts in the hope that some day I'll lose a couple of sizes and fit them again but I should probably let go

I think you should hold on to those shirts and, if you don't fit in them, make some part of the kid wardrobes. If my daughter is ever tall enough, she will definitely inherit my purple leather pants.
