Just finished filling out my ballot, and I'll be dropping it off at a ballot box later tonight. I hesitate to instigate a political divide when we're just getting back together here on VGC, but I had little choice but to vote for Kamala Harris in this election. Short of writing a whole political essay about it, I can just say in brief that I have a pretty huge number of family members and close personal friends who are trans or who have otherwise been made targets in a constantly-escalating puritan culture war, and just want to live their lives normally, enjoying basic safety, human rights and civil liberties. I want to see us demanding a LOT better from the Democratic party in the future, but still, kind of the only choice I can make, and I just hope for the best for the future.

Anyway, I can in the tiniest way help make America better by pointing out to people how damaging the Standard American Diet (SAD) is.
Well, its more the Standard Western Diet because its everywhere.

If people were not clogging up hospitals and just generally suffering in life unnecessarily when they have preventable diseases society would be hell of a lot better off...

I was once a Republican voter. I thought the Republican Party had principles and standards; lines they would not cross. I believed the lies that their strength and conviction were what was best for America. The lies that they had any strength and conviction.

Trump proved once and for all that the Republican Party is a sham. There's no low that they won't stoop to if it serves their small-minded agenda. Proud to say that i never voted for him and I will never vote for a Republican again.

Not being afraid to express your emotions is a lot more acceptable than listening to whatever lies make you feel better until you storm the capitol in an attempt to kill enough people to get your way, in my opinion.

I voted for Kamala. Not because I'm a fan of her, but she's fine. I don't respect Trump, and I would not vote for him no matter which political party he is affiliated with.

Our government is very important, of course, but I think it is helpful to remember that America will either thrive or die mostly because of American citizens. I feel that's what makes it great. Not our political leaders. We have to get along and work together.
