    Short rant:

Corporate America can be maximum annoying. Every day before lunch, people ask on teams, "What are you eating for lunch?" I kindly explain that I'm not eating anything. "Phil, why don't you share with us? Be social!"

I'm not trying to be antisocial. I literally am not eating. I don't eat. I'm gonna have a single ~1500 calorie meal of chicken enchiladas, refried beans, and rice at dinner time, and that's all I'll eat today. But now Kayla is using the Teams on every message I send because I'm not eating.

    End of rant.

Y'all that have transitioned, have you had the appropriate support through it? It seems like you've have a pretty healthy grip on it all. Not to imply you SHOULDN'T, but... you know what I mean. I JUST hope you get the love and care and whatnot from the people around you. And people that don't give you that support you deserve can go eat a worm.

I decided to take the plunge and dive into the Discord. I see a long list of some good-looking people there! If you ain't in there or active, that's fine, just know you're missed.

I took a gander at the member list to see who's been online recently and in the past 2 years I'm happy to see so many folks listed. Now, I'm going attempt to be super active on this board like it's 2004 all over again. I'm pushing myself to make a post a day, whether it be a new topic or a reply. I don't wanna treat this place like my own personal blog, though, so I'm really hoping that people see this stuff and start posting. That also means I'm gonna be necro-posting, going through all the old threads (already did it with the pets one) and commenting, so, fair warning.

    What's on my mind?

Life is cool. It's challenging at times, it's fun, it might not be nonstop thrills and surprises but it's always steady. Back in January, I left a pretty great career with a large home improvement retailer (I can't tell you which one, but it rhymes with Gnome Repo) not entirely of my own volition. They had this downsizing, thousands of people left their jobs. Luckily, I move quick, and I got a new job within 2 weeks, moved over to banking. It's been pretty eye-opening how few people have got things together.

Y'all, if I can give you unsolicited advice, it's this: get your money together in a good place. I'm sure that there are many of us that are struggling, living paycheck to paycheck, or aren't secured for the future. It's scary. I hope nobody out there is drowning like the dozens of people I talk with every day. If you are in a situation that you can budget, please please please do so. Heck, chat with me on Discord, I'll help you do it. I got customers in their 30s and 40s that are constantly negative on their accounts, I got 90+ year old people that their only income is $800 a month in Social Security, and I got people in their 20s maxing out credit cards, getting hit with hundreds of dollars in overdraft charges, and really crashing their life early on.

I'm not a wizard, but if you're struggling and it's something you might potentially be able to budget out from underneath, let me know, I'd love to chat and help.

Aaaaaaaanyway. Yeah, that's my post for the day. Much love to y'all. I'm gonna try to do community game nights in the Discord, and I hope to see you all there. Later taters!

I miss my arcade sometimes. My job now is so much more stable and low-stress than running an arcade in a failing mall, but I'm proud of the business I had when I had it.

I think my favorite thing I did was getting Tekken 6 before most of the rest of the country had it. New Yorkers were complaining on the Tekken forums that "someplace in bum**** Wisconsin has it before we do?!" and I had people coming from neighboring States to play it. Good times.

i mean... the problem with redoing things is you might end up an entirely different person

i've made peace wtih the cringelord i was growing up here on VGC, and it's been freeing

this way it allows me to still be kinda cringe, but just in different ways, like, i'm wearing a xenogears t-shirt

is anybody gonna get it? no, but it's important to me and in my earlier days i'd never wear anything but blank t-shirts

of course, the biggest helper to that was realizing i'm a failure as a boy and a treasure as a girl :3

Just sitting here going down memory lane, reading messages and posts. Hadn't really posted much here in nearly 20 years and the only thing I can think is that I was so cringey that it's embarrassing to read through now, but can't change the past. Young and dumb. I apologize. I miss those that I was close to and sadly it seems that there's no way to get into contact with the vast majority of them anymore. Thanks for keeping the site alive after all these years. I hope everyone is doing well.
