View Full Version : What are you saving up for?

Well, I spend a lot of money on gas, but otherwise, I'm trying to save up enough to get through school and for when I move out. I'm not entirely sure when that will be, but hopefully within the next couple of years. And hopefully with someone special. :)

So, uh, what about you?

Cars are huge money pits.

At the moment I'm not really able to save much money because of the increased cost of fuel, and my increased need for my car. What I do save is for college books and other expenses.

Getting through college and all that jazz comes first on my list and since my car is paid off, I only need to worry about that of fuel, which is expensive as hell nowadays.

Besides those things I save for the regular reasons, games, movies, concerts and the like.

Nothing, really. I don't spend enough money to have a problem with spending £200 in one go on the occaision that I need to. And there's nothing really that costs much more than a month's paycheque that I want right now.

They're rad and cheaper than iPod minis. Plus, considering I now have regular computer access, I can change things on the fly.

Cheaper? What are you talking about.

2GB iPod Nano = $199 which is equivalent in price to a 4GB iPod Mini.

Now, 4GB iPod Nano = $250, which again, is the same price as a 6GB iPod Mini.

They're charging you because of the small size and the nice thin look. Other than that, you're not getting a deal. At least with the mini you get 2GB more than any nano at the same price, and the mini isn't that "large" to begin with.

I tend to put a little money aside whenever I get some, so that I can pull out my small savings when I see something I want. Otherwise, I tend to spend my money on small things like food or drinks at school.

Though, I'm not really going to save up for this. I'll just use part of my tax return to pay for it in full, or finance it for 0% APR until 2008 and pay it off way before then. I imagine a PS3 (or any next-gen system for that matter) will look pretty sweet on one of those things. I just hope I can make room in my bedroom for it.

I did an inspection of my car earlier this week, and it needs:
- Brake Pads
- New spark plug wires
- Spark plugs
- Timing belt
Total of like $500
And because it's a Hyundai, and not an awesome Toyota, if I let that timing belt break, the fukken valves will meet their worst enemies, the pistons. Fun fun times, so I either let that happen or spend lots of bux. :(
