not a future system anymore
stop advertising or celine dion will eat you
I see three threads other than the identical two you created. And hey, two of those three are half-decent threads.
Fail.
if u plan on sending this message to everyone whos posted a topic regarding the xbox 360 recently on the 'Future Systems' section u got a lot of typing to do.
Fail.

I wouldn't put any of it past Microsoft, though I'm sure the Mole might've been embelishing.
Heck, PS2 scratches discs regardless.
Who could have guessed that Microsoft would release a buggy and low quality product just so that they could crush the competition?
Indeed. I hope sony doesn't solve the melty ps3 problem by 2007, and they still release it with a tray around the bottom of the stand to collect the drops of molten plastic, and sell extra blocks of plastic to place on top of the system once a week to keep it coated.
Sounds like the sort of thing they'd do.
And I just remembered this: http://www.usd.edu/~bwjames/humor/ms/microsoftdin.html
It's actually to the point where I ignore everything anybody on VGC says about the Xbox, because the strong majority of you people are fanboys. What exactly is wrong with the Xbox? Superior graphics? Great games? The best online service? A controller that has only proven inferior to the PS2's in fighting games? HDTV compatibility? Come the fuck on, you idiots, stop hating the system because of the name that's behind it.
And now with the 360. It has very few good launch titles (what system ever had more than 2 good games good at launch?), sure, but almost all of the feedback I've heard from the system has been positive. I've a friend who is a Nintendo Fanboy, and he proclaimed, "The 360 is just the best-feeling system I've ever played." Also, he hasn't had it crash on him. I'll tell you all the same thing I tell new girls in the porn industry: try something new, you might like it.
It. Was. A. Joke.
Jesus ****ing christ, get a sense of humor, people.
Tgis thread is really stupid. If you wanted to let people know when not to do something to avoid a crash then by all means. This seems like instructions for someone stupid to do something stupid. Every system has Its share of problems and microsoft said they recieved less complaints about problems with a system than they expected.
Actually, the Xbox is well known for having a very crappy Thompson disc drive that doesn't do well with dual-layered discs, and after extensive use it doesn't do well with any disc. This problem is so common that there are several websites up to deal with this issue, and going to message boards like BioWare's will reveal a bunch of people that have had the problem (Jade Empire is dual layered). Unless you bought an Xbox recently, only luck would tell whether you were purchasing an Xbox with a good drive or not, as the box doesn't tell you.
As for the 360, the only issue I've come across was when I wanted to play Quake 4. At startup, the game would tell me, "This disc should only be played on an Xbox 360" in different languages. I looked over to make sure I had purchased an Xbox 360. I looked at the disc tray, and indeed it said "Xbox 360." So, I tried it again and this time it'd run. Then, I found out you can't play split screen. Then I realized the only problem I had with the 360 was that Quake 4 sucks.
I have friends who would return the Xbox for an exchange when the drive was bad. Also, I've been at LANs where guys would wait for eachother to fall asleep, then take the Xboxes apart and switch them out. Rippon got in a lot of trouble for that...
Quake was never really good in the first place.;)
It wasnt meant to be an accurate reflectin of Microsofts quality. It was just a joke on the reputation that they have for rushing shoddy propducts. ****ers like you take **** too seriously.
OMG, someone said something bad about a company! Quick! Rush to the defense!
Whoa, whoa, calm down there, cowboy. No need to get mad over a little thing.
So says the person who felt the need to try to refute a simple joke.
I thought it was funny, LoS. :)
Ok, enough of that. Get back to topic or continue this somewhere else.
How To make Your 360 Crash
Turn it on.
Useless or not, they're still bugs and should have been removed. That's the job of a beta tester. Bugs are to expected on release, though - it is a Microsoft product.
And pressing the Home button during a loading screen? A lot of people will actually do that. There should be a failsafe for that. It's akin to pulling your memory card out during a loading sequence, on another console. You seem to want to defend the 360 no matter what.
It's not the Messiah, and it get be a very naughty machine. All of them are, and you have to work around or fix the inadequacies, not pretend they aren't there. The power of the machine more than outweighs its faults, but they really should have been fixed.
This is more of an aside, but I had an interview at Game (the English branch of EB, pretty much) yesterday, the day after the British 360 launch. This particular store only got six Premium systems in, and a smattering of Cores -probably about eight - that were up for grabs. They went on the dot of 9am, when the store opened, and when I went in at half past ten the next day they'd already recieved three or four calls from people who'd had it break on them. it seems you don't need to try to make the console crash, and that's a pretty big oversight.
PS2 broke (disc errors all over the shop, disc scratching, just plain stopping working), as did the XBox (scratching discs, deleting games ont he hard drive, etc). The only current-gen console that hasn't had too many problems is the GameCube, but even then it can be prone to stupid things like the Open buttons sticking and the occasional disc error.
No system is perfect. I'm trying to make that point. A lot of fanboys just go overboard and overlook the system's faults because of its power or whatever. And I'm talking about actual faults, not OH WOW THE REVOLUTION HAS NO GOOD GAMES LIKE GRAND THEFT AUTO. I have no doubt that the Revo, for example, will be a solid system, with probably a few games not backwards compatible, and a couple of buttons that are hard to reach. But I can expect very few hardware failures. Conversely, a console that fails but with a good controller is fairly useless.
