the one were you match to pairs, i think thats pair-a-gone?? for luigi i got 400 on and then my girlfriend asked me if she could borrow my ds and returned it with the high schoor of 686!!
SPOILER WARNING:
Luigi is hidden in Big Boo's Haunt, a new level (all the new characters are hidden in new levels). To get the level, first get eight stars and beat Bowser for the first time, and get the key to unlock the basement. you'll also have to get the required amount of stars (I think it's twelve) and look up into the sky to pound the red switch, enabling red blocks in the levels. Once you go down to the basement, there will be a big Boo who floats away from you - chase it into the garden as Mario.
Go to the left-hand side, avoiding all the Boos. You can knock them out if you punch them from behind - if you look directly at them, they'll disappear. I find the easiest way is to let them get close, look at them so they disappear and stop, look away just enough so that they come back, then punch - your punch still hits them usually, even though you aren't looking at them.
On the left hand side is a large Boo - knock it out and there's a cage inside. Go near it and you'll shrink and get into the level.
Luigi is on the first floor (and a half, I guess) of the mansion. An easy way to get to him is to go into the room that contains an eye, a Boo, and a flame. Kill both the enemies. On the wall opposite the flame, the same wall that the door is on, Mario can wall-kick onto a higher level - it might take a few tries. You can then navigate out of that room and you'll be on a balcony. Take the door to Mario's left, but your right, and you'll come out on an area with a red block. get the red block and make mario into a balloon, and float directly up. There's a smaller balcony there. Go through the door and you'll be in another area with a blue switch and - voila - Luigi's portrait.
The puzzle inside it is great - you need to follow sound, a la The Lost Woods, to get to the boss. Once you do you need to go up to the mirror and you'll find Luigi - but you then need to work in synergy with yourself and your brother's reflection to beat the boss. Once you've done that, you've got Luigi's key.
Wario is a lot easier - so easy I shouldn't need to tell you how to do it. :P
You need to have freed Luigi, collected thirty stars and beaten Bowser for the second time. As Luigi, go up the stairs into the tower, and go through the door without carpeting. You should be in a room with portraits all over the place, pillars everywhere, and a full-length mirror. If you're Luigi, there will be Power Flowers on the pillars - take one and run through the mirror. Then you can run through Wario's portrait. His level is a snowy one, but it should be fairly easy to beat.
In this room, there's a secret star, also. Try and find it.
