What made you buy gc over any of the rest, now if your like me where you want the gc with mario and halo on xbox, or the challenge ok kingdom hearts for ps2. Then what made you buy the gc.
Replace the word "buy" with "get" ...
Anyway because I wanted a machine that plays game and does so well. With promising sequals to all the great games, great new games, and with Nintendo and Rare on board how could you go wrong.
I have both PS2 and Gamecube, I will have an Xbox soon aswell, so I havn't chosen the Gamecube over the other two either.
Gamecube because I always go with the nintendo consoles first.
Nintendo games. You can't play Ninty games on other consoles.
I already had a dreamcast and ps2 and was intending to buy both systems, but I knew one had to be first.
So I thought to myself... Who had established games with established fans? And then I thought to myself "Rogue Squadron 2"... and then I thought some more... Which game looks so weird that I must indulge?... So I looked at games and decided that it was "pikmin" which tickled my fancy.
But then It turned out I made a horrible mistake, Xbox had halo! Oh no! I made a fatal error. Then I played halo, and realized it wasn't all that hot, and then I grew happy in my knowledge that the gamecube was indeed superior to the xbox :)
Nintendo makes my favorite franchises.
Mario Kart: Double Dash!! :)
mario sunshine was just calling my name!
Super Mario Sunshine was eying me the moment I walked into Best Buy. I couldn't resist, so I paid the $200-some for a date with Mario. Well... let's just say it's like paying for an expensive escort service and then finding out the next day you got crabs. Not the best feeling in the world.
And for the record, I bought my PS2 long before the GCN was out. I got the GCN because eventually the system would have several great first party games.
Nintendo Freak...AND SSBM was coming out soon after the release :D
Super Smash did nothing for me, but wind waker was the real treat nintendo had in it's panties.
I got a GCN and a PS2 though the GCN is far better.
I was tempted to get an Xbox for a moment when the initial consol announcements first came out. I thought "hmmm, sounds a little interesting" but that was quickly snuffed with Microsofts' constant and un believable lying.
Microsoft lied about console power, about library and used at least one screen shot to "prove their power" that was actually from a GCN game. With that I said "go to h-e-double toothpicks ya money grubbing morons" and I'm glad I did too; They have the worst library of games, the worst customer service and are just a shady group of greedy lawyers all in all.
I originally bought the PS2, and it stayed like that until one of my friends said he was selling his Cube after Rare were sold off. So for
The PS2 has crap multiplayer, and didn't have any games that interested me, the Xbox was a ridiculous concept back then at the price, amount of games and lack of Xbox Live, and I was completely hyped up for the GameCube after seeing all the awesome games that were coming out on it. Can't get Nintendo games anywhere else, and they're just too valuable a developer to miss out on.
I got a Gamecube over the rest is because nintendo is the best and will remain that way for a little while. While you can play 4 players normally on the Gamecube, the PS2 needs an adaptor to play 4 players. Nintendo exclusives are the best that you can't get on any other consoles. I don't have a X-box and don't tend to...I have a PS2, but I barely touch it.
Nintendo rules!
I have always been a fan of NINTENDO. I also like the other systems. But NINTENDO comes first. I have every single console they put out. I even have a vintage NINTENDO card deck. It isj ust a plain card deck because before video games NINTENDO made card decks. Its pretty sweet. Anyway i might get a PS2 or a PSP after i save up for my Nintendo DS of course.
I couldn't imagine living without Mario, Zelda or many of the other priceless nintendo franchises. Halo and Grand Theft Auto are good games, but they just aren't the same. It wouldn't have made sense for me to buy any of the other systems.
I got my gcn before my xbox and ill get a ps2 for my birthday in october. So i will have all three systems.
I got my gamecube for the likes of Mario, Zelda, Metroid and all the other titles that Nintendo famous.
Mostly because of the franchises. There simply the best out of all 3 consoles. Although its my 2nd favorite system, I think it makes some of the best games out there today, all of which seem to get over looked and underrated.
I chose it because of the games, I suppose. Also, I have always been biast to Nintendo.
I didn't. I've had my PS2 much longer than I've had my GC. But I am glad that I did buy the cube, as it has some really great games etc.
because my coison got it and it looked good so i got it myself and mostly because of the games there more action and since im trying to get everything with mario in it
super smash bros. mario golf mario tennis mario kart mario sunshine etc.
thats why
I didn't really get my Game Cube over an Xbox or Playstation 2, since I got those as well. However, if I was only able to get one of the systems, I would have definitely got myself a Game Cube. I have been a fan of Nintendo for many years and I wouldn't want to miss out on all the great games that they have been producing lately. Super Smash Bros was certainly something I wouldn't want to miss out on. Also, at the time, Rare was still with Nintendo, giving me hopes of a future Perfect Dark game, along with other games they had been talking about at the time, such as that Donkey Kong Racing game.
Actually I purchased the Cube Last. I bought my PS2 for 300, My Xbox for 300, and the Gamecube I bought when it was 150. But I normally buy all of them. At the time when they all came out I had interests in other games for the other consoles. The Gamecube has a decent library now but not so much when I bought the other two.
Ehh...Nintendo fan. XD
There was 4 things.
1.I just sold my N64 and had didn't have all that money.
2.It was small and the place I put my games didn't have room for a really big XBOX.
3.Resident Evil
4.I have always played Nintendo games, I love Mario games.
Even if I had my space and money for an XBOX, I wouldn't have bought it. One reason why, Resident Evil 4, I would rather have a Gamecube, and RE4, then an XBOX and every XBOX game ever made. I think it's that good.
i have both GC and PS2 Ide never turn my back on nintendo i think the graphics on GC are pretty good but the main reason i got it was to play super smash bros. melee (awsome game) and also i wanted the ocarina of time game since i have no working N64 controllers anymore
i was a big fan of the n64 and the NES, i never got into psone, so i went the nintendo way mostly because of the n64's great games, i figured, they would remake them on gc better, and they did...kinda
I planned on getting them all one day, but at that time Smash Bros Melee was gonna be coming out on December 3rd of 2001, and the Cubes launch was November 21st, and with only about 2 weeks, I was going to be playing my favorite franchise from nintendo.
Now its 2005 and I'm still playing that game. But me and my bro ended up getting the rest of the bunch. The cube had some of my other favorite oldies coming out new. Nothing much else to say.
I got the Xbox first, then decided to grab a Gamecube and now ive recently got myself a Ps2 Slimline and to be honest i dont favor my gamecube over the Ps2 or the Xbox, mainly because it lacks alot of games (even though i just got starfox assault which is great) and its coming last in the console war. Still it's a good fun console to play and i recommend starfox its great!
I got the GC the day it came out, why? Because it was Nintendo. That was pretty much the only reason. I wanted to continue playing the franchises I loved, but otherwise I had no other reason to get it.
I think this thread should have been "Why did you get a Gamcube" rather than getting it over the other two. That case isn't as likely as someone having both or all three systems as opposed to having just the GC.
Ps2 then Gamecube... at least, that's what I got.
Why? Because it was the cheapest of the three, and I was on a tight budget. That, and it had Smash Bros. Melee on it, which I love to play with my friends. I just got my PS2 recently, and still don't have a Box...
Christmas, I thought it would actually by fun but I was sorta wrong =/
I bought all 3 platforms on their respective release dates.
But for the record, I like the cube more than the other ones.
because I am a huge nintendo fan I HAVE ALL THIER SYSTEM so i was not gonna stop when the gc came out
I didn't. I got a PS2 first then the Gamecube. I don't like the X-Box 3 games it has sorry ****.
Yeah I don't really understand what you mean? The Xbox has more then 3 games :-P And actually the Xbox Library is fairly good. I have to say I'm more impressed with the Library Xbox has over the Library Sony Has. Sure Sony has more to choose from but 96% of the games for the PS2 are incredibly bad. I'm not saying the Xbox has much better but I believe it's better anyways.
I got a gamecube for the promise of the Zelda games, but later got an Xbox cause' nothing else that "perked" my intrests came out
I got a gamecube because the other consoles don't have Mario, Zelda, and Donkey Kong.
I got a GameCube because I always had got a Nintendo device (Super Nintendo, N64, GC) and I figured it would be as good as the others. I just won a Xbox from a contest, and it has shoved my GameCube aside.(Poor GC)
I'm getting it now, one and a half years after I got xbox, 16 games for it. PRobably gonna go pick it up tomorrow..
I got a cube a month ago becuase I was bored with my XBOX
I got a Gamecube about 2.5 years ago. I just thought that the PS2 and the XBOX sucked. The only reason I would almost get an Xbox now is because of Xbox live...
i bought a gamecube after i bought my playstation2 im not buying an xbox
My brother and I got it for Christmas mainly for the zelda games.
I got a Gamecube because I always bought Nintendo systems. And I like how reliable they are. Also my favorite video game (Wrestlemania XIX) is on the Gamecube, which is the main reason I keep it over a Xbox. If it wasn't for that wrestling game, the Xbox would be my favorite.
The Zelda games were the main reason. As well as mario games such as double dash:D
I just love Wind Waker too much. Too bad they never got to release WW2 and most likely won't ( I've lost all hope in them)
Which should be better than any windwaker 2. Windwaker wasn't too bad but I didn't really get into it like OOT or LTTP.
I first got my xbox then I got my gamecube.
I didn't because it wasn't so great although I have one now it is currently sitting in the corner collecting dust with a whopping 2 games i have purchased for it (WW and SSBM) .
I bought mine before the PS2 and XBOX because of the fantastic library of games that it has to offer for my tastes in games. Even though it didn't have a DVD player with it; the games made up for it.
I chose the GameCube because I grew up a Nintendo gamer. I'm much more comfortable and better at playing Nintendo games than Sony and Microsoft.
