Richaod's December Trip to England/France
Posted by RichaodNote: This is NOT a "leaving" thread. Yet.
Anyway, I'll be going with part of a school group to England from the 3rd of December to the 12th, and to France from the 13th to the 15th. I'm more than happy to meet up with anyone who... likes me enough... so if you're interested, PM me with the basic... area in which you live (unless you want to publish your private details for all to see). Being tourists, we've already arranged events on most of the days, but we do have free time. Basically, we'll be around London, Oxford, Gloucestershire and Cambridge, then Paris. I'll probably buy a prepaid SIM card when I'm there so we can make contact and arrange details more easily.
Meeting with Sabredog pretty much confirmed at this point. Expect really random pictures and way too much Dream Theater worship than normally possible in small areas.
Edit: wtf, I can move/copy the thread. Admin powers get.

What does the bottle's label suggest to you?
Oh, and yes, really. I would also like some scones and tea, thank you.
I don't think we're going to Canterbury anyway. No problem; I wouldn't go to all that trouble to deliver a bomb to you personally anyway.

JOKE. GET IT? i sure hope the Australian government doesn't prosecute me with their new anti-terror laws.
Posted by KlarthDidn't think about it that way, fair enough.

If you so much as SAID "bomb" here back in July, you'd be arrested. :D

Posted by ShadeI wish my school trips were that awesome. :(
I get to go to Chicago! Whoo...not.
Posted by The JudgeEveryone's saying to stay away from Canterburry, despite the amazing tales that came from there! I think you should go.
Posted by SpeedfreakWhere are you going?

IT's not really a 'school trip'. For example, I go to the same, school, but I'm not going. Why? Becuase I don't have a few spare ten thousand dollars.
Posted by Lord of SpamChaucer was a douche.
Avoid Canterbury as if your life depended on it.

Five. ANd I'll enjoy, my life without, you when you, go, on your single non-plural French, exchange or somehting like, that.
Why do I get the feeling Klarth doesn't actually live in Canterbury? :( Canterfurry, rofl.
Perhaps because he said he spends his holidays in Paris. Help me out here.
Speedfreak, you live... where?
Posted by higbvuybNice mutilation of the common comma, there.
Five what? five, ten thousand dollars? $50,000?
And I'm not going on a French Exchange. I might see Klarth, and be forced to gouge out my eyes.

WHat? where?
and Australia > Ireland. So if richaod goes there, we might just have to send some nukes there, or boxing kangaroos. Or maybe the presence of Richaod will make them evacuate anyway.[/irrational post]
Posted by Klarth
Why do I get the feeling Klarth doesn't actually live in Canterbury?
Because I'm not actually sure if I do or not. Technically, I live in the Dordogne in the south of France, but we're not going to have that house for much longer (renting it out to friends for 8-12 months, perhaps longer), so I really have no idea where my home is. I'm at school here, but outside of term I spend a lot of time at my brother's house in London.

HEY IRELAND HOW'S YOUR HOLY WAR JIHAD ON CHRISTIANITY GOING HUH? DON'T GO TO BELFAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by RichaodBump, I'm obviously back. I'll post a more detailed, diary-ish description of the trip later with some photos, but a couple of reflections upon the trip first.
1. Never buy anything at Harrod's or Knightsbridge, because soccer balls aren't worth 80 pounds. Single pieces of sushi also aren't worth 1 pound.
2. Never flame YuGiOh too much, because half your tour group may secretly like it or impulsively buy decks that will be constantly used for a week and never touched again.
3. Stay in youth hostels instead of two-star hotels, they actually have VALUE FOR MONEY and are often better anyway.
4. Don't eat English breakfasts (as in bacon, eggs, toast, baked beans etc.) for more than 2 days in a row because it will kill you. Continental breakfasts usually consist of a crossaint and a slice of melon and aren't much better.
5. If you ever find the elevator (if it even exists) at l'Arc de Triomphe, take it.
6. HMV in England is actually decent.
7. THE MOULIN ROUGE FEATURES TOPLESS AUSTRALIAN WOMEN AND OUR SCHOOL TOOK US TO SEE IT.
8. People flash the \m/ at We Will Rock You. :( And I was all like, "RONNIE JAMES DIO YOU FOOLS"
9. If you ever do British Parliamentary debating, use "Your fly's undone" as a point of information because it absolutely murders the opposing team.
etc.

They would have some cool stuff if it weren't for the fact that all of the CDs or jewel cases are broken. I think they hammer them onto the shelves or something.
Posted by Vampnagel P. WingpireHMV is never decent. Once in a blue moon they have somewhat decent prices, but that hardly ever happens.

I meant that the selection of CDs surprised me. They had a decently stocked metal section, and I'd pay 15 pounds for a Turisas CD, given that it's rare and probably impossible to find in Australia. I think they were selling Rust In Peace by Megadeth for about 6 pounds, which isn't bad at all.
...why is this all turning to musical discussion?
Posted by Vampiro V. EmpireMetal section is always crap and overpriced.
Wait, that's the whole store.
Posted by Vampnagel P. Wingpire^^
Plus they blast the ****ing music so loud here I want to kill myself. Or an employee. Whichever.
