Ok this isn't official by everywhere but I work up at both EB Games and Kmart here where I live. At EB We easily sold out, same goes with Kmart. After talking to a friend of mine who works at Gamestop, they sold all of their GTA's with the exception of a few pre orders that haven't been picked up yet. It's crazy...
I haven't been able to get my hands on it yet. We have a PSP at EB that we play around with when we're bored and have nothing to do. When we get it traded in i'll have to play it.
Let me know if you guys think it's awesome!!
I havn't played it myself but this selling out stuff comes as absolutely no surprise to me. Its really the first game for the PSP that the majority would deem worthy of purchase. In a few days the PSPs around my school will come out and their owners will finally be playing games on them.
OK. I assumed that those games were not very popular because none of the PSP owners around my area have those games or any game for that matter. was it wrong to assume? Anyhow my PSP owning friends will definately have this because its in their MSN screen names "OMG GTA PSP!" so its a for sure thing.
has anyone played this does anyone no if its worth playing and what the game is like?
It's the best selling PSP game we have, infact it's probably the best selling handheld game. We haven't sold out a Handheld game in a long time.
I haven't played a whole lot of it yet, just a few hours, and its already my favorite PSP game. IMO this is the first must buy for the PSP that I've come across.
No surprise, as long as it keeps what GTA on consoles that makes it so fun, it'll sell like crazy, no doubt.
It'll be interesting now to see if the PSP can keep going with Great Games. I know of a few great titles coming such as Breath of Fire III, and Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core. We managed to sell a lot of PSPs this week. More than any other handheld with the release of Liberty City Stories. So we'll see whats in store for Sony's handheld.
To be honest I've hated the GTA's on the other systems. But the one on the PSP seems is the best game I've played on the PSP yet. I really hope they pick it up and keep the great games coming. Right now it doesn't look like there will be a lot of great games coming out. I haven't seen any PSP game other then BoFII and FFVIICC that has caught my eye. Guess we will just have to wait and see.
IGN says that the multi-player aspect of the game (7 game modes?) is probably the best feature the game has. I'm gonna buy this thing asap now.
I knew it would be. GTA being multiplayer was a great thing. The first GTA that is. I loved playing the multiplayer. Even San Andreas to a point is multiplayer (at least for xbox). GTA going Multiplayer is something I said would be a good thing. Most people doubted me but it's turning up to be a rather good thing.
WHEN DOES IT COME OUT IN THE ENGLANDSSS
Oh, November the fourth. That'll be good.
I wouldnt go out my way to buy this game but if it is bundled with a PSP when I buy one than I'd keep it and most likely play it.
i picked up the game guide and looked. but i had other stuff to do..what so diffrent from this than 3? i know you can ride motercycles and the infurnes is in this game but can you drive around the airport or swim or drive the boats?
I wouldn't buy a PSP for it, but if you have one then it's worthy of purchasing. Probably the best handheld game i've ever seen. I haven't gotten to play it, just watch my friend play it :(
Maybe for christmas...
It's a completely different story - basically the backstory of Toni Cipriani from GTA3, how he came to be etc.
It's extremely good, I must say. The only thing that annoys me is using the handbrake to do an 180 on the PCJ-600 - you ALWAYS fall off the back, even if you're holding 'up'. It's ****ed annoying.
Otherwise, yay. PSP GTA. And you CAN use boats, although you can't fly (except for one helicopter, but we don't need to go into that).
I have it. And... it's the best game for the PSP. Seriously, great story line, good FPS, good controls, great world and loading times. It's just fantastic.
I want everyone to buy this **** NOW.
Bascially, if you enjoy the GTA series, pick this up. Otherwise, it's simply just a repeat of the same style of gameplay. For myself, quite boring after a good three or for hours of play. A good rental for a trip, if nothing more.
It hasnt sold well here at all really. We sold all of our preorders and no others we have had 2 people trade theres back in to us already. Im really not a big fan of gta or the psp so i cant really tell u anything good about it
grand theft auto is famous for there cheats..does anyone no where i could cheat codes for this game?how diffrent is this from gta3 world i no theres an airport and that you can ride bikes.and i heard there were online capibilty.
Cheats are in abundance at http://www.gta-lcs.com. There's quite a few, but just the ones you'd expect - best weapon set, max wanted, never wanted, etc.
There is an airport on Shoreside Vale, but you can't fly (unless you do something extremely long-winded, and even then you only get to fly for a short while - it's a glitch in the game). Bikes are also all over the place - there's the Sanchez, PCJ-600, and Freeway that we know, and the Angel and the Avenger that are new (AFAIK).
Online capability... no. There's local multiplayer with your friends, but not online.
Other than that, Liberty City is pretty much the same. Some buildings are different - some are under construction where they're finished in GTA3, and some are standing whereas they've been demolished by the time GTA3 comes around.
Oh, and the storyline's a lot better.
what is the lcs?and can you buy assets?"it seems that helicopters in Liberty City Stories are flyable after all! Well.... sorta. In
the mission "Calm Before the Storm" for JD you can apperantly jack a helicopter on a rooftop." oh thanks for that site i want to buy a psp so bad cause i played burnout legands before someone stole my ps2 but this is awesome
Okay. LCS stands for 'Liberty City Stories'.
I don't know what you mean by buying assets... although admittedly I never completed San Andreas, so if you're talking about houses and casinos and whatnot, so far I'd say... no.
In 'Calm Before The Storm' you can indeed jack a helicopter, but it's so immensely hard to do I never bothered. It involves riding a PCJ-600 up two flights of stairs. The first one is easy enough, but the second one is hard as there's nowhere to build up speed. If you can do it then whoohoo, but there's not a lot of point. You can only fly a short distance and there's no real value added.
i just looked at the cheats..bike bike tire size ,chrome cars upside down, bobble head world...what the heck?and why are there more or diffrent exotic cars like the deimos and my fav sports car the infurnus and with the ferrie can you actually transport cars?if any of you goto that site theres more stuff than whats exually on the game
What? Please, can you start writing as if this was a homework assignment or something, and not a chatroom. It makes it a lot easier for others to understand.
The Infernus is in the game, as is the Banshee. They're only really available on Staunton Island, not Portland - you do get to drive a Banshee in one mission, and Salvatore gets one at one point (and promptly crashes it, heh), but otherwise you don't get one until Staunton.
As far as I can see, the only stuff on GTA-LCS is what's on the game. I don't see what you're driving at here.
I am getting it tomorrow at 10 AM yay for me.
In other news, a nice man has uploaded a hacked savestate with the helicopter in the garage! Get it here.
I have to wait till Christmas:( , I have a PSP but I am getting all Handheld(im getting a DS, i have WI FI next Door:D ) and 2 console games for christmas. I ve heard it's an awesome game.
