win xp question

Posted by Bj Blaskowitz

I know this might be a dumb question, but I don't know the answer and it's bugging me. I remember on win 98 you could arrange files in a folder by date modified, meaning from oldest to newest and vice versa. CAN it be done on xp? I hate when I download a bunch of song reccomendations and I can't remember what they were, and I USED to be able to simply arrange the songs from oldest to newest. plz help, thx

Yeah, Tech board.

Anyways, just right-click in the folder, "Arrange Icons By...", then "Modified". Should work.

Ah-ah-ah, Vampy, you forget that folders within folders can't be arranged that way.

Basically, put music files in one folder. DO NOT make another folder within another, otherwise you can't arrange it by date modified. So it should be Folder>Music. That's it.
