Heh, I was mistaken for eighteen today, and the guy next to me (sixteen, ftr) was mistaken for thirteen.

another sign i'm getting old:

for those who didn't know, today was "take your kids to work day". so here at work there's a ton of little rugrats running all over the place. they all love my cubicle because i have the whole top shelf of my cabinet filled with toys (mostly kids meals toys, but theres a few classics like my slinky, play doh, pez dispensers....)

so i have a few nintendo related items up there. one kid saw a mario doll and said, "cool, mario!". so i asked him if he liked video games. he said yes, and told me he had a gamecube, PS2, nintendo DS, and a ton of other stuff i dont own. he asked what system i had....

"oh, its really old. its the original nintendo."
"whats it called"
"nintendo"
"nintendo what?"
"just nintendo. N-E-S, nintendo entertainment system."
"huh? whats that?"
"its older than a SNES and N64"
"N64? what the heck is that?"

thats when i told him to go back to his mother and leave me alone. actually, he asked if he could have my slinky and when i told him i was willing to trade it to him for his yoyo octopus thing he had, he said no and left.

but is the N64 really considered to be a "classic" or ancient system already?
