u into foreign films?

is anyone into park chan-wook? I think one of his early films j.s.a (joint security area) is finally coming out on dvd in the states. Has anyone seen it? Let me know if its worth buying the region 1 disc

I have not seen it, but he sounds quite familliar. I'll keep an eye out for it.

To answer the question though, yes, I love asian films quite a bit, particularly horror films like Ringu (0 was the coolest 8-), Ju-On, Old Boy, ect. as well as fighting movies. Recently I thought that Kung Fu Hustle was absolutely brilliant and hillarious. The biggest letdown lately however was House Of Flying Dagges, which I distain because of how abysmally boring that it is. Hero was awesome though.

yea kung fu hustle was pretty funny. i thought it would be more comedy, it kinda got seriously toward the end. j.s.a is one of chan park wook's old movies. he directed oldboy. the movies don't really have anything in common. i heard oldboy is pretty bloody. check out the trailer of j.s.a http://www.palmpictures.com/videoplayer.jsp?id=d1445778338&sample_only=true

Quoting harajukuchic's topic: U into foreign films?

Well, I guess the vast majority of anime movies are foreign so the answer to the question would be Yes...
