As opposed to USB2. I'm asking this because I don't have USB2 on my pos notebook.
USB2 will work on USB 1.0 (I think, I've done this with a few of my things [MP3 players, etc.]) the only bad effect is that it'll just slow down transfers.
Yes, I've used it on USB1, and it still works fine. It is a lot slower, but not too much unless you are transferring stuff like games and movies. But you are in Europe, so you won't have to worry about games at all.
