Your CD Collection

Posted by Wicked Sushi

Sure, you "own" thousands of albums, ranging from every Metallica album to the original soundtrack of Katamari Damacy (Japanese version of course). But if I would go to your house and check your room, I wouldn't find more than 100 CDs that aren't burned. Why? Because you download songs from the internet for free, just like everyone else.

I know there are people who usally would say:
"OMg yuo arent a fan foo fighters u suck dude i owwn all their albums on my harddrive111 u suck!!!!"

When someone doesn't have their stupid bonus track from their first album (if there's any, that is. I don't know, I'm not a big fan of them). Which is completely moronic.

Obviously there are times when you just love a CD so much that you actually go to the store and buy it (rarely, probably) or just get it for free from somewhere. Well, in this thread, I'm going to show you what CDs I actually own, with pictures to back it up and well, I want you to do the same with your collection.

Clockwise from left top corner:

Halo 2: Original Soundtrack (And New Music) - Volume 1
Banjo Kazooie: The Soundtrack

Quoting Shin-Ra: Stuff

Okay, but still, not many people buy albums as far as I know and the purpose of this thread would be seeing cover art and CDs...which brings be to the fact that you didn't back up your list with pictures (even though I believe you, but still).

Also, how old are you exactly, with albums like "Jackson 5 - ABC" and "Beach Boys - Best of"? Oh and if you own all that, you have a pretty wide range in taste of music...SpongeBob and Jackson 5, next to Will Smith and GodSmack...

EDIT

Quoting Shin-Ra: Vinyl: (most of these are from my Grandma)

So you bought the Vinyls from your grandmother? Because I specificially said in the original post that show us what YOU bought and YOU listen to and not what your mom, dad, brother bought.

Great collection though.

I'd LOVE to take pictures of my collection. You'll have to give me about a few days to get a disposable camera, waste the film and get them developed. If it makes my post any more convincing (although you said you believe me), here's a screenshot of the total amount of stuff in my music folder: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v93/Shin-Ra/62915879.jpg

What does it matter? I own them. I listen to them. They're mine. Bold text.

Yeah, that doesn't really count, 'cause they are mp3s.

I'm guessing you collect music CDs, right?

This isn't a e-penis growing thread sir. It's cool that you have many CDs, but don't get all defensive when you just posted a list, okay?

I know I don't have many CDs, hence the fact I was able to post pictures of every one of them. But not everyone can afford buying 100s of CDs $10...

Also, when you bold things, you put emphasis on them, you know? That's why it's coded into VbBulletin.

Uh, I never attacked your collection. I was poking fun at the amount of bold text you were using. I wasn't trying to grow an "e-penis", it was one of those little "ha ha, see what he did there?" things.

Don't double post.

Angra - Holy Land, Ayreon - The Human Equation, Frameshift - Unweaving The Rainbow, Frameshift - An Absence Of Empathy, Therion - Lemuria, Therion - Sirius B and Rush - 2112 have been borrowed by friends, I forgot to take a photo of my Dream Theater CDs because they're in a different rack and I'm stupid, and same applies to the DVDs. I'll take photos as soon as they're back.

[EDIT: SCRATCH THAT LAST COMMENT, I'm silly and now have photos of my whole collection with the exception of Holy Land, The Human Equation, the Frameshift CDs, Therion - Lemuria/Sirus B, and Rush - 2112.

CD:
Wild Child - Enya
Paint the Sky with Stars - Enya
Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd

Delicate Sound of Thunder - Pink Floyd
Once in a Livetime - Dream Theater

Relient K - Relient K

Cassette:
I had a Van Halen tape and BadCompany tape in my old car, but I don't think I ever took those out before it went to the salvage yard.

LP:
My collection of weird spanish songs, the original Pink Panther Soundtrack from like 1960, Amy Grant albums, A creppy one with Neil Diamond on the cover, and a few Billy Joel 45s all went when the record player broke. I did have a really large amount of records for a while, but most of them are gone now, or that's what I think. I may still have them packed away though, so I'll look.

I think that's it, because most of my music collection is mp3 stuff. I'll photograph it at some point.

I don't have the kind of money to spend on cd's, so I only own:

Nightwish - Wishmaster

Enya - Only Time
Metallica - Ride the Lightning
Apocalyptica - Inquisition Symphony
Dream Theatre - Awake
Dream Theatre - Scenes From a Memory
Icewind Dale - Original Soundtrack
Some Faye Wong cd

Now from that, I've burnt a few mix CDs, but no CDs burnt from what little bit I've downloaded from the internet. Also my comedy albums including Bill Cosby, the Blue Collar Guys, Denis Leary, Eddie Murphy, Monty Python and George Carlin, were obviously excluded from the list. My 8 Weird Al CDs from years ago were also obviously not included.

Quoting Klarth: Whoa whoa wait and you're not ashamed to post the fact that you like linkin prak?

I'm confused.

Yeah, when I get to the point where I care about what others think is good music or not, especially about a band that everyone rips on just to get on the "lol emo" bandwagon, is the time when I will kill myself with a fork while peeing on an electric fence.

I will never get what's the big deal of someone listening to someone's music? What's so shameful of that? Heck, someone please rip me on the fact that I love Anal Cunt then. It's hateful, racist (unless you figure out that they say racist things to **** people off), and quite down politically inccorect. That's something to be ashamed of. They have no musical talent and their lyrics usally consist of such things as "Technology is gay you ****ing faggot get a life you ****ing douche aaarrhrrhrhgfhghgh"

Oh shi. :(

"Great Milenko". :)

Quoting Bj Blaskowitz: you dildo, your first paragraph criticizes people who burn cds and don't buy them, bragging about how you'll post your cd collection because you actually own them.

I wasn't critizing the fact that someone downloads an album. I critized people who think they are awesome and great because they did. Yes, some people brag about their mp3s.

PS:

Fact is; nobody listens to Anal **** because they're good music that's fun to listen to. They listen to them because they're ****ing hilarious.

And as for Linkin Park, whatfux? I'm not on any kind of bandwagon. I genuinely think they're a ****ty band with no talent, and most people who listen to them tend to be ****tarded.

The "good" cds of my collection. I completely got rid of the "cd rack of shame" which is great, so yay for that.

I'll post a more detailed picture when I get the chance.
