I own a SNESII (the 'compact'). And recently, I've been having withdrawl from X-Calibur 2097 (and Super Metroid) and haven't been able to operate the **** console for some unknown reason. Most of the time I spend on the machine is troubleshooting and tinkering. Can anyone bring up some minor hints as to what killed my SNES?!

Your SNES version 2 Died? Man... I have no idea what could have caused that. Did you try cleaning up what you can out of it?
I don't think it's that paint job either, but something may (but I'm thinking not) have eroded somewhere. I don't know, because I have an older model version and it still works fine.
