Bloodhound Gang's new album now has a definite release date; September 27th. The album will be titled, "Hefty Fine", and it's quite different from the band's previous releases. DingleBerry Daze EP and Use Your Fingers were straight suburban hip-hop with two rock cover songs; "Kids in America" and "K.I.D.S. Incorporated". These hip-hop installations featured Daddy Long Legs, who is now in his on hip-hop/metal group, called "Wolfpac". He wrote the darker parts of the songs, while Jimmy Pop, the lead "singer" of the band, wrote the random funny shit.

Examples:

Daddy Long Leg's lyrics in the song "Rang Dang":
So set your phasers on kill if ya will so catch the feelin'
Got your head a pumpin' a back and forth until it hits the ceilin'
Now I'm wheelin' dealin' stealin' Johnny's apple seeds
Slapped you with a baseball bat upside the head until it bleeds
Showin' no mercy step like Solomon Grundy
Hit ya with a table leg like I was Ted Bundy

Jimmy Pop's lyrics in the song "Rang Dang":
Taste great but less filling so thrilling
Come unannounced like automatic billing
And you can't do nothin' as I push your buttons
When I talk you're gonna listen like I'm E.F. Hutton
Like Lionel Richie up "All Night Long"
Jimmy Pop don't do nobody wrong

You can clearly see the difference.

Here's a sampler of the album:

There's my AdWare's "found spyware" sound around the end. Sorry about that.

The album sold fairly well, but it wasn't as sucessful as the band's second album, One Fierce Beer Coaster. Most of the songs were rock oriented this time, while a few of them were still hiphop. The lyrics were a lot wittier and now they actually made sense. One of the songs, "Fire Water Burn" is actually pretty popular, as it featured in movies and in "Fahrenheit 9/11". Other songs, like "I Wish I Was Queer So I Could Get Chicks" and "Kiss Me Where It Smells Funny" didn't get much of an airplay, besides on MTV2 and rock radio stations once a while.

Lyrics such as...

I squeak like Stephen Hawkings yeah but I'm walkin'
Nose to ground so this Bloodhound will sniff and follow it
I hope you choke on your pride when I make you swallow it
Screamin' like a Mimi when you see me comin' near ya
Like a Kenny Loggins' record no one's ever gonna hear ya
Like a game of Hide and Seek it's all over if I see ya
'Cause you're yellower than tinkle and you'll be runnin' like diarrhea

...are golden. Well, they are to me at least.

After a few years of touring, Bloodhound Gang released their most sucessful album, "Hooray for Boobies" (or just "Hooray" in WalMart stores). Most of the songs were basically rock with some synth and moogs in the background. If you never heard of Bloodhound Gang, I'm pretty sure you heard their song "The Bad Touch" which is referred as "That Discovery Channel Song" by some people. It had a 80s sounding with crazy lyrics about having sex. Pretty good stuff. While the other tracks on the album were great, they didn't get much of an airplay, in besides Europe. Though the exception would b the song "Mope" which is a song about being bored and shi and around the end has a funny "skit" of Pac-Man going all drugged out.

There's also a track on the album that people either love all the way or hate it real bad. That song is "A Lap Dance Is So Much Better When The Stripper Is Crying". It's basically just a song where Jimmy Pop reads up a story about getting together with a stripper. The third "verse" goes like:

So, Bambi's goin' on about how she can make all my fantasies come true. So I
says, "Even this one I have where Jesus Christ is jackhammerin' Mickey Mouse in
the doo-doo hole with a lawn dart as Garth Brooks gives birth to something resemblin' a cheddar cheese log with almonds on Santa Claus' tummy-tum?" Well, ten beers, twenty minutes, and thirty dollars later I'm parkin' the beef bus in tuna town if you know what I mean. Got to nail her back at her trailer. That rhymes. I have to admit, it was even more of a turn-on when I found out she was doin' me to buy baby formula.

You either can find it dumb or just hilarious. I, personally go with the latter one.

Anyways, going back to the release of their new album, "Hefty Fine". Supposedly it
took seven years for the band to make it. I have no idea why would it take that long, but anyways, it's out, as I mentioned before, on September 20th. What can you except on the album? Nobody really knows. Definite track listing hasn't been released yet, but samplers and photos about the making of the new album has been released and this is what I put together:

(Possible) tracks featuring on the album:
1. Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo
2. Pennsylvania
3. No Hard Feelings
4. Unn Tiss Un That
5. Ralph Wiggum
6. Farting With a Walkman On
7. Bump In The Night
8. Jackass
9. A song with Nysnc
10. A song with ICP
11. A song with HIM
12. A song with Isabelle's Gift
13. A song with Weezer

1. Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo
This is the first single from the album and a video has been released for it.
Sample:

(Make sure to turn the volume down because the quality sucks)

1a. Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo EP
A seven track EP has been released on ITunes, though it's not available at stores until September 20 as far I know. The tracks are basically just remixes of Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo; mostly in techno form. Very good. You must listen to it! And no, I'm not saying that because I like them; it's really good, especially because it's only $6.99.

2. Pennsylvania
A sampler has been released and the full song is posted under "News Flash" on Bloodhound Gang's official homepage.

(Make sure to turn the volume down because the quality sucks)

3. No Hard Feelings
A sampler has been released:

(Make sure to turn the volume down because the quality sucks)
This has turned into a single at radio stations, due to the fact Foxtrot Uniform Charlie contains too many sexual refernces. I don't get this though. This song is about girls not having sex with their boyfriend when they have a birthday and about how much guys suck (it's written from a girl perspective.). Anyways, it's an awesome song. :)

4. Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss
A sampler has been released:

(Make sure to turn the volume down because the quality REALLY sucks)

5. Ralph Wiggum
A sampler has been released:

(Make sure to turn the volume down because the quality sucks)

6. Farting With a Walkman On
Jimmy Pop posted about this song around 2000 on the forums. No links, sorry.

7. Bump In The Night
A picture of the order sheet has been posted on Bloodhound Gang's site, under "Behind The Scenes >> Hefty Fine".

8. Jackass
This song has been released on the official soundtrack of "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back". This isn't really a rumor, I just think they will re-release on Hefty Fine as a bonus track or something.

9. A song with *NSYNC
No other information is known besides:
http://www.nsyncworld.com/info/articles/73.shtml

10. A song with ICP
This is merely a rumor.

11. A song with HIM
This is merely a rumor. Please note that HIM is signed under Jimmy Pop.

12. A song with Isabelle's Gift
A picture of one of the singer's of the band has been posted on Bloodhound Gang's site, under "Behind The Scenes >> Hefty Fine".

13. A song with Weezer
This is merely a rumor. What makes this belivable is that Jimmy Pop has remixed Weezer's "Hash Pipe" song, so further collabarations are quite possible.

I've been speculating with my friend that the new album will be 2 discs, hence the "Hefty" in the title and that the band has given away their song "Pennyslvania" for FREE on their website and releasing about five samples months before the release of the album.

Here's how the album cover could possibly look like, when the album is released:

The cover will look like this when the album is released on September 27th:

I don't enjoy the Bloodhound Gang's music, BUT I approve of this thread! Very well done, I'm going to download those samples when I get home on Sunday and give a more thorough post over the band. I wish more threads were like this.

By the way, was all of this written by you, Wicked Sushi? If not, then please post a source link.

Thanks. :)

And yeah, I wrote every single part of this thread, along with the samples; I had to play them, record them with my microphone, convert them, host them and blah blah blah.

I agree with Shin-Ra, excellent job with the thread.

I never cared much for the Bloodhound Gang except for "The Bad Touch", but I don't know. I guess they're just not really my kind of music.

Posted by Richaod

Someone should do this kind of thread for Dream Theater. :)

I must comment that I think their most well-known single (the nameless Discovery Channel one) was okay, but I really, really, really, really, really hate the song Kids In America. Does anyone remember the Digimon Movie version?

Quoting Richaod: Does anyone remember the Digimon Movie version?

No, and for some reason, I don't think anyone but you will either.

Fire Water Burn > The Bad Touch, merely for Pixies references. :)

If you're going for comedy, I much prefer the Frogs.

Hey, didn't you actually watch it?

For comedy? Impaled Northern Moonforest is my pick.

I find their references hilarious. I am looking forward to their new CD. I wasn't even aware that they had a new one on the way. Great news.

I agree. But good concept, nontheless

Bumping because of the updates.

*** those are some deep lyrics.
Nicely done thread, though. Kudos to anyone that has the time to make a thread with samples.

Or Doctor Demento.

Awesome thread, you've put a lot of time into it. A++. I personally don't like the band, though. I find their lyrics tasteless as a general rule. D:

Posted by Klarth

I know the lyrics for the discovery channel song off by heart but i can't remember its name for the life of me. We had to learn it at school a few years ago :/

And Wicked Sushi makes great threads
