I was wondering something. If there was a thread in my blog, and I were to move it into a place where posts counted towards your post count...(let's say move the Night Time Posting Only thread to the Community Board), would my post count, and the post counts of everyone who posted in that thread, raise suddenly?

Yes all post counts of the users that post in said therad would go up. Vice Versa if you take a thread and put it in a blog.

Probably so that not only the same people would post in the thread only, but everybody will start putting stuff in there.
It's just that this time, posting whatever in the thread would raise your post count.
