allright, what I'm running right now is a bare bones intel 64 bit video card,a nd I'd like to update to something 128bit. ATi, or Nvidia, it doesn't matter which. I need something within 100-150 dollars, and it has to be able to run Guild Wars, which runs good, but i'd like to be able to up the textures and detail. Any suggestions?
Hmmmmm, I prefer Nvidia, but I guess its up to what you want and which is cheaper. I like in Australia so I don't know how the prices are like over there. I would go to PC magazines and look at reviews. Then, once you see one or two that you like, go to a comptuer store and compare their prices. Maybe check a few stores, then you will get a good idea of price.

I have the same problem, and I'm thinking about getting that one.
Don't waste your money on that old technology. I have a 5600 128MB and that card is definately not worth it. If your low on cash and you need a card to hold you over go with a 6600GT or a 6800 normal and you can use RivaTuner to unlock the pipes and turn it into a 6800GT. No use in picking up a card that wont last you a few months.
If you want to risk breaking your card by unlocking the pipes: http://www.newegg.com/OldVersion/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-130-202&depa=1
If you dont: http://www.newegg.com/OldVersion/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-133-137&depa=1
I don't care if it's old or not. So long as it plays Star Wars: JKA, it's fine. That's the only computer game I see myself buying for a LONG time, anyways. Besides, I've had it for over a year and never played it normally at my house. If I buy any new PC games, I'd have to probably have an entire new computer to accompany it. All I want is my JKA. :)
Well then that card would work because I've played JKA on my 5600 fine. JKA and Guild Wars are a little differnet. :double: I'm going to look for a card for the same price as that except ten times better, so consider this a forum brb.
...bah, stupid me. Sorry about that, NT. When I said the exact same problem, I didn't mean Guild Wars. My bad. >.>
I just want one preferably less, or just around $100 that can play it on normal or higher without lag. Not ANY lag, but smoothly. The multiplayer, I mean. I doubt I'll be on single much. While it's sort of the topic, do you still happen to play JKA, Negative?
Ok found a card for you: http://www.newegg.com/OldVersion/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-145-113&depa=1
120 bucks and it should perform great in JKA. Also, I lost my disc one and reformatted since then. Think my friend took it with him to California too so I wont be seeing it for a while. :p
