I tried to play DVD's on WMP, but I found out that I need some DVD decoder stuff and yada-yada. I find some... but only that you have to PAY for it!
Id there something I can download that will allow DVD playback? I'm trying to use the DVD player, but the interuptions are annoying. I put the CD inside the DVD drive, but WMP tells me to "lower my resolution and color settings" . The lowest I can go is 800x600 on 16-bit. Help?
Yes, Windows Media Player is a complete rip-off. Its been Bil Gate-erised. Just by looking at download.com I found these:

http://www.download.com/Action-DVD-DivX-Player/3000-2139_4-10405806.html?tag=lst-0-11
http://www.download.com/AdvancedDVDPlayer/3000-2139_4-10405928.html?tag=lst-0-13
But they're just a few. If you want more, just do to www.download.com. The ones I posted above are free.
Gah, I think the third link may not be a good idea based on reviews...
But I think all I have to do is find dome instalation thing. I can't be paying for decoder crap because I can't buy things online, so yeah...

Really? I had no idea, despite the fact that it was created by Microsoft and Bill Gates is the driving force behind Microsoft. Wow, you're so knowledgeable!
arczu just get a player that is specifically for dvds as a previous poster said search download.com or google
Your DVD drive should have came with DVD playback software (unless it was OEM) such as Cyberlink PowerDVD. Check your CDs and see if you have something like that.
If you can't get it running, I suggest going to Nero.com and downloading the suite which includes Nero ShowTime. PM me for details regarding the "30 Day Trial".
