And Barret.... Red XII..... Yuffie...... Aries...... Dyne...... Cait Sith..... and Wedge and the AVALANCHE crew (underrated in my book).
Too many awesome characters.
But the first six are the winners in my mind.

I'm pretty sure he meant FFVII only, otherwise I would have put IX, VI, III, and Tactics characters after the AVALANCHE crew. (VII is best though.)

My favorite character from FF7 is probably Cloud. He eventually becomes pretty down-to-earth, and I feel that this is one of the most valuble qualities that any human can possess.
But of any FF game? Delita, from FFT. He did what he had to do to set things right, and took out any jerk-off that he had to make sure it happened. He didn't f*ck around like Ramza did. He got things done quickly and effectively.

Rufus and Sephiroth are in my mind the best representations of evil since Kefka from FF3 on SNES. Rufus represents everything greedy and politically powerful and Sephiroth is my idea of everything demented, fanatical and yet "spiritually logical" (contradictions abound). Both of those characters were done so well that they get easily get my vote. I suppose Vincent would come in third for being the incarnation of everything poetic and doomy.
Final Fantasy X was my first Final Fantasy (don't laugh), so I say Chocobo the way they do. It's something like Cho-ka-bo.
Sephy's my favorite FFVII character.
White Mage/White Wizard.
Yeah, they get a good MP and surprisingly high HP. D: Who needs dialogue when you've got full-life?
