would anyone mind explaining one to me?
i can play all of "be my escape" by relient k except for the rake in the chorus. i believe it's called a rake, where it is:

here are the tabs i'm using: be my escape
i'm pretty sure you just palm mute it and play it open; however, i can't get it to sound right. mine sounds blah, and in songs it sounds all percussiony, like a drum roll. is there a certain way you strum it or something?
also, does anyone know what the 'I's stand for in the song? at the part like:
E--------------------------------------|
B--------------------------------------|
G--------------------------------------|
D-----------7----I-11--9-----6-7-------|
A---7--9----5----I--9--7--7--4-5------|
E---5--7---------I--------5------------|
i've never seen those before. i just kind of ignore them, and the song sounds ok, haha.
christian pop punk like wut.

Hopefully that works.
To rake on a guitar, just simply push/pull (depending on the direction of your picking) your pick or fingers against the muted strings.
So basically:
Mute said number of strings, and pick them as if you were strumming a chord.
thanks bra.
