Months ago I came across a word that sounded like it was commonplace among people in the know for describing the pixilated 8-bit games that I like so much. It may have applied especially to RPGs. It was such a perfect adjective, but I've forgotten it and it's driving me insane. It alluded to the flatness/abstractness of the characters' appearance. Does this ring a bell to anyone?
Pixellated...?
That wasn't what I was thinking of... it wasn't "retro" either... I think it was something that meant "child-like" only with a positive connotation (meaning that they really made you use your imagination." Thanks for the thought, though.
Nostalgic, perhaps? I dunno. :/
Huh, are you thinking of sprites? That's a noun, though.
Nope, we still haven't hit it... I guess the term is less universal than I imagined.
I'm not sure about the one you're looking for, but I ran accross this term earlier today while looking up information on the Marchantiophyta.
