Dont know if i spelled his name right but oh well :)
I enjoyed all of his films. The only one i havent seen is Porko Rosso. My two all time favorites are Spirited Away and Nausica: The Valley of Wind (dont know if i got that right either)
Spirited away is really good. So is Kiki's Delivery service. But I like Spirited away best. Go to www.fanfiction.net and look under anime and go down to spirited away and read. Some are really good. You should check it out.
Hayao Miyazaki is easily the most famous anime director in history. He is considered the Steven Spielberg of eastern animation.
Does he deserve that title?
Well, it depends, ask me about Princess Mononoke or Castle of Cagliostro and I'll say he is a pretentious hack who makes boring movies.
Ask me about Spirited Away, and I would have to whole heartedly agree. Next to Akira and Grave of the Fireflies and Vampire Hunter D, that anime is simply the best there is.
.. I loved Princess Mononoke, probably more than most of the others. I guess you have a different taste.
I dig his style, but I don't like his moves.
I'm much more impressed with other anime stylings out there than his work, although it is impossible to fathom him NOT being the most popular animator in the world.
A porn store?
I love Miyuzaki, he (like others) turned me to anime. The first movie of his I saw was Princess Mononoke, I eventually saw other movies of his but still prefer Princess Mononoke although Spirited Away was a close second.
Did anyone see the Hayoa Miyazaki special on TCM? I saw three of his more older movies. I already saw Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away as I mentioned before but with these more classical of his works I was amazed.
I saw My Neighbor Totoro which was a child's movie but still good I must say.
Later I saw Porco Rosso and that was a stupendous action movie with a great plot and a good even amount of comedy to it.
Finally in Whisper of the Heart I was nearly brought to tears by the genius of the romance. I've never seen anything else done more beautifully.
I must say, this man is an anime GOD!
My favorite thing about Miyazaki? The hair. Every time a character is expressively happy, sad, surprised or angry, the hair flies up. I have to yell it out whenever it happens.
Yeah, never seen a Miyazaki film I didn't like. The Cat Returns rocks pretty hard, too.
Ah, well, that's pretty much samey.
I was forced to watch Spirited Away. Hated it. It seemed like it could decide what to be, so it just ended up mushing through a few different film stlyes.
Miyuzaki is amazing, theres not one movie I didn't like. I'm looking into buying all of them I can find. Theres not much else I have to say...the hair thing is awesome.
my favourite movie by him is My Neibor Totoro!!!
