I'd have to go with Blind Guardian. I know I made a thread many moons ago about how silly I found them, so I won't go into detail about it again. Lord of the Rings was uproarious. MORDOR! lol
Yeah....ummm, I think I'm going to have to go with GWAR on this one.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and how exactly is BG a silly band? Sure, they have some goofy songs and stu...oh, yeah ok. I guess they are a tad silly sometimes.
Yup. Gwar gets my vote. Though I wouldn't call them a band at all.
3 inches of blood.
Gwar.
I almost said Gorgoroth, though. That screeching is too much.
Have to be Gwar.
Whatabout Manowar I issue a chalenge to you to find a picture of them where not one of them is dressed in underpants and or leather

#5 gets me every time. It's one of those "seriously, wtf?" moments.
Any black metal band who takes themselves seriously.
Gwar, Zimmer's Hole, and sometimes Helloween.
Any Mike Patton project, maybe some Devin Townsend.
Any Dungeons & Dragons/Lord of the Rings inspired power metal band who takes themselves seriously.
Also, the satanic black metal guys that are in touch with their pagan roots. Now, this wouldn't be that bad if they were LaVey Satanists (who perceive 'satan' as not necessarily the Christian devil) but they're for the most part not, especially the Norwegian guys that disliked the Swedish bands for having some sort of dogma to base their beliefs off of. To add to that, the black metal musicians that burn churches in hopes of crushing Christianity or bringing back the old ways are absolute morons for obvious reasons.
Oh yeah, and Anal Cunt.
-Any band that claims to be "Satanic" but isn't.
-Any band that claims to be "Satanic" and is.
-Any band that doesn't claim to be "Satanic" and is.
Mechanical Poet.
Runners-up Helloween, Blind Guardian and Devin Townsend. Perhaps everyone in the "black metal pics" thread, too.
Also any hair-metal band that thinks they are "hardcore rockers".
Oh, and I just remembered Rhapsody...
I think Dream Theater is silly for that frolicking soprano girly man that is James Labrie
...When did I say I disliked Rhapsody? I own Symphony of Enchanted Lands II and Tales From The Emerald Sword Saga, and love them both. I just think that their whole "swords and shields" act is waaaaay over the top.
i've heard worse, to be honest, and it's like. . . a dorky fantasy book.
I like it :(
I just hate the **** speaking interludes
So do I, actually. I think it's just... Not right that they roped Christopher Lee in to dress up as some king and do all those bullchrist speaking parts.
And then they had him sing in the new single :/
Manowar. I think all of their albums have at least one song where they sing about being a metal band.
