Megaman Battle Network 5: Team Protoman/Team Colonel

Posted by Dark Link

Anyone else getting this game? My friend and I are getting Team Protoman and both my sisters' are getting Team Colonel.
I can't wait for the release of it on June 26th.

Bit of Info.
The Soul Styles are Back!
Each team has 6 navis, so 6 soul styles again

Team Protoman's Navis:
Protoman, Searchman, NapalmMan, Gyroman, Medi, Magnetman

Team Colonel's Navis:
Colonel, Toadman, Numberman, Shadowman, Knightman, Tomahawkman.

Posted by Stalolin

I don't know too much about the upcoming Battle Network game, but from just the souls listed there I'd most likely get the Team Protoman version.

Do you have anymore information about the souls? I can only assume so much, I figure that all the old souls are the same and Toadman has a paralyzing attack.

Posted by Pit

Wow, unfair distribution of the souls. Protoman gets Searchman, Magnetman, and Gyroman, which are the one I wanted.

I'll get Colonel anyways, to see Colonel, Tomahawkman, and Shadowman.

sorry for the huge post
team Colonel souls

Knight Soul

Description: A Soul that shows the chivalric (is that even a word?)
friendship between Rockman and KnightMan.

Soul Unison: Sacrifice a Breaking Chip. (Chips with an iron ball as a
symbol. Eg. AirHockey)

Element: Breaking

Abilities:

Charged Attack: Royal Wracking Ball - Spins the iron ball around Rockman.
Confuses enemies who are hit.
40 Damage +10/Atk+1, Breaking.
Chip Attack: Charge Breaking - Breaking Chips can be charged up for 2x
Damage. AirHockey!!
Invincible Armor: When you use any non-time freezing offensive Chip, you
gain invincibility while executing the Chip. Great for
SamuraiSwords, Vulcans and bomb Chips.
Super Armor: The effect of SuperArmor NCP takes place as long as you
stay in thie Soul.

Pros:
- Boost of Chips' attack is always good, especially when they break
your opponents' defenses.
- Invincible AND SuperArmor. Never lose your Charge, never get
disrupted when using Chips.
- LOTS of multi-hitting Chips are Breaking.
*coughAirHockeycoughDrillArmcough*

Cons:
- Royal Wrecking Ball's range is terrible.
- Apparently the movement is a bit slower.

Acquire: After second Liberation Mission (against ShadeMan)

Chaos Unison: Chaos Knight
Required Chip: DarkDrill
Charged Attack: DarkDrill - Oh this is fun. Basically a DrillArm, but
with MUCH higher damage and # of hits.
Range of Hit:
PPPPPP
PMHHPP
PPPPPP

(If enemy can't be pushed back, it receives more hits.)

============================

Shadow Soul

Description: A Soul that shows the dark friendship between Rockman and
ShadowMan. Answers you Shadow-fanboys.

Soul Unison: Sacrifice a Hiding Chip. (Chips with a sign of a purple
sillouete. Eg. Invis)

Element: None

Abilities:

Charged Attack: LongSword - Fanboy-loved Soul = terrible Charged
attack, it seems. Yes, this is just a normal friggin'
LongSword. Weakened too.
60 Damage + 5/Atk+1
Chip Attack: Back Stab - Charging up Sword Chips will allow you to
launch the Chip from BEHIND the closest enemy. Great
for NetBattling. But no Double-damage like Blues Soul,
whoopie.
OmniShoes: Rockman gets the effects of AirShoes, FloatShoes and
ShadowShoes, making him able to move over broken/mission
Panels, not break cracked Panels, and neglect all negative
Panel effects.
SpeedUp: Rockman's moving speed is actually increased.
KawarimiMagic: Do you know how annoying this could be? You press B + <-
(like you're using a Shield) to activate Kawarimi
(AntiDmg). You need good timing, but it's REALLY annoying
when you got it mastered.

Pros:
- You get the possibly most annoying defense in the game.
- Back Stab your enemies when they're trying to aim at you.
- You move faster, so less chance of you getting hit.
- Omnishoes defends against ALL bad Panels. Especially Poison Panels.

Cons:
- The Charged attack is absolutely TERRIBLE.
- Back Stab doesn't double sword damage like Blues Soul's Fumikumizan
(StepSword) effect does.

Acquire: After third Libration Mission (against CloudMan)

Chaos Unison: Chaos Shadow
Required Chip: DarkInvisible
Charged Attack: DarkInvibisle - Gets Rockman into Berserk Mode. You know,
like when you're completely dark and you get a fatal hit
and just pretty much turn crazy, lose all control, and
just go random. Buster Shots, Chips, everything is
random. Good thing is that you CAN'T be damaged while
in Berserk Mode. It wears off after a few seconds though.
Range of Hit:

(No range since it affects Rockman himself)

============================

Tomahawk Soul

Description: A Soul that shows the trusting (you find me a better word
here...) relationship between Rockman and NapalmMan.

Soul Unison: Sacrifice a Wood Chip. (Chips with a sign of green leaf.
Eg. Boomerang)

Element: Wood

Abilities:

GrassStage: ALL Panels (except for those missing since beginning of
Battle) turns into GrassPanels.
Charged Shot: SilverTomahawk - I personally call this crap. Rockman raises
his Tomahawk, and after a fatal delay, he swings the
Tomahawk in a DreamSword (LifeSrd; 2x3 Panels) range dealing
some ridiculously low damage.
80 Damage +10/Atk+1. Wood-Elemental
Chip Attack: Double Wood: Wood Chips gain double damage when you execute
them while Rockman stands on GrassPanels. The GrassPanel
will be drained after the Chip is used.
Nature's Heal: Standing on GrassPanels will slowly heal Rockman's HP.
However, it's really slow compared to previous games.

Pros:
- Double Wood Chips' damage is useful for certain Chips...... Like
SabotanBalls and SabotanDances.
- While Nature's Heal is slow, it could still give you that "invincible
combo" that existed ever since EXE3. (TomahawkSoul + GrassPanel +
UnderShirt NCP)

Cons:
- Weak against Fire-Elemental attacks.
- You can only double up a maximum of 9 Wood Chips unless you AreaSteal.
- Multi-hit/Fire/BOTH attacks will toast you up.
- The delay in Silver Tomahawk is seriously deadly for you since you're
completely open for attack.

Acquire: After fourth Libration Mission (against DarkRockman)

Chaos Unison: Chaos Tomahawk
Required Chip: DarkLance
Charged Attack: DarkLance - Stabs enemy's last column with bamboo
lances. Pushes them one Panel forward.
Range of Hit:
PPPPPH
PMPPPH
PPPPPH

============================

Number Soul

Description: A Soul that shows the infinite friendship between Rockman
and NumberMan. (Thanks to Daimou43 for giving me a good one
here)

Soul Unison: Sacrifice an Damage-modifying Chip. (Chips with a sign of +/-.
Eg. Atk+10)

Element: None

Abilties:

Charged Shot: DiceBomb - Tosses a DiceBomb 3 panels ahead. If an enemy is
hit with it, it deals 10 damage. Otherwise, it will last a
while before blowing up and hitting 3x3 Panels centered at
the Bomb.
# on Dice x (10 Damage + 5/Atk+1)
Chip Attack: Attack Plus - All Normal Chips gain a +10 bonus.
Full Custom: You have TEN Chips to choose from in the Custom Window.

Pros:
- Attack Plus allows some nice multi-hit Chips to be further powered-up.
- Easily pulls out P.A.s with the Full Custom.
- DiceBomb is a fun gamble, no?

Cons:
- Enemies could just move under your DiceBomb to make it useless.
- If you happen to run out of Chips (it could happen), you're DEAD.

Acquire: After 5th Liberation Mission (against CosmoMan, I believe.)

Chaos Unison: Chaos Number
Chip Required: DarkPlus
Charged Attack: DarkPlus - The next Chip gains a +50 bonus. Use it on a
multi-hit Chip/PA for some extra PAIN.
Range of Hit:

(No range since it affects Rockman himself)

============================

Toad Soul

Description: A Soul that shows the electrolytic (blame H0tSh0tZ for
this one) friendship between Rockman and ToadMan.

Soul Unison: Sacrifice an Aqua Elemental Chip. (Chips with three water
droplets. Eg. WideShot1)

Element: Aqua

Abilities:

Charged Shot: Homing Note - Fires a musical note that homes on an
enemies. Paralyzes whoever got hit.
30 Damage + 10/Atk+1
Aqua Charge: Charge up Aqua Chips for double-damage.
Aqua Plus: Aqua Chips gain a +30 bonus.
Dive: Hides in the water when standing on Aqua Panels.

Pros:
- Homing Note is great against enemies who love to move a lot.
- Hide in the water to avoid getting hit.
- Charging up Aqua Chips which already gained +30 Bonus? Sweet,
I'd say.

Cons:
- Weak against Elec-Elemental attacks.
- Homing Note doesn't move backwards (like ThunderBalls) so once
it misses, it's gone.
- OceanPanels don't last forever in a Battle, so your chance at
hiding underwater is not unlimited.

Acquire: After 6th Liberation Mission (against DarkBlues)

Chaos Unison: Chaos Toad
Chip Required: DarkWideShot
Charged Attack: DarkWideShot - Fires a WideShot that covers three panels
vertically. Stops after hitting something.
Range of Hit:
PPHHHH
PMHHHH
PPHHHH

(Stops after hitting something)

============================

Colonel Soul

Description: A Soul that shows the great partnership (hey, I got
something for a change! Thanks to Daimou43 AGAIN!) between
Rockman and Colonel.

Soul Unison: Sacrifice an Obstacle Chip. (Chips with a sign of a brown
block. eg. CountBomb)

Abilties:
Charged Shot: V-Slash - Launches a V-shaped slash that hits the enemy
ahead and also the top and bottom left Panels. The Panels
it cover depends on where the enemies are.
Range: PPPHPP
PMPPHP
PPPHPP
50 Damage + 10/Atk+1
Chip Attack: Colonel's Army - When an enemy lines up with any Obstacles
you placed, the Obstacle will change into a soldier that
attacks AND Paralyzes the enemy. The Obstacles disappear
afterwards.
Arm Change: Select any non-Elemental offensive Chip that doesn't freeze
time and click Arm Change to allow Rockman to use that Chip
as his Charged Shot.

Pros:
- V-Slash is semi-auto-targetting.
- Arm Change allows some fun in Battles. Imagine sticking a SuperVulcan
onto Rock's arm and fire away.
- Colonel's Army paralyzes enemy for you to land some heavy-hitting attacks.

Cons:
- If your enemy pulls strategies that your Arm Change is bad against,
you're screwed for at least one turn.
- The obstacles (which you may have placed for some special purposes)
will be gone once it turns into a soldier and attacks.

Acquire: At the end of the Destroy Servers Scenario, after
DarkColonel's darkness was cured.

Chaos Unison: Chaos Colonel
Chip Required: DarkSound
Charged Attack: DarkSound - Places down a Trumpy. When it plays, all
enemies without defenses are paralyzed.
Range of Hit:
HHHHHH
HMHHHH
HHHHHH

sorry for the double post i just thought that it would help separate the 2 game's souls
again sorry for the huge post ( i not sad i just stole it from a site)
Protoman souls (i'm getting this one incase anyone gives a F*ck)
Magnet Soul

Description: A Soul that shows the electrifying friendship between Rockman
and MagnetMan.

Soul Unison: Sacrifice an Elec-Elemental Chip. (Chips with a sign of yellow
lightning. Eg. ThunderBall)

Element: Elec

Abilities:

Charged Attack: Magnet Bolt - Draws enemy on the same row to the front and
zaps the one that comes in contact with the magnet.
40 Damage +10/Atk+1, Elec-Elemental.
<- + B: MagnetFreeze - Freezes up enemies on the same row with a magnetic
shock. Can be blocked by Shields and Barriers.
Chip Attack: Charge Elec - Elec Chips can be charged up for 2x Damage.
Anti-Magnet Shoes - Rockman can stand on Repel Panels without being
pushed off.

Pros:
- Boost of Chips' attack is always good.
- Can step on Magnet Panels without being thrown off.
- Can draw enemies close with the charged attack for combos.
- Can freeze up the enemies for some good hard-to-aim attacks.

Cons:
- The MagnetBolt is weak and makes enemies flinch.
- In some cases, Magnet Panels are USEFUL for evading enemy attacks
and you lose this bonus with Magnet Soul.
- Weak against Wood-Elemental attacks.

Acquire: After second Liberation Mission (against ShadeMan)

Chaos Unison: Chaos Magnet
Required Chip: DarkThunder
Charged Attack: DarkThunder - A moderately-slow-moving thunderball that
chases enemies, paralyzes and deals 300 damage when it
comes in contact with them.
Range of Hit:
HHHHHH
HMHHHH
HHHHHH

(Chases after enemies.)

============================

Gyro Soul

Description: A Soul that shows the gusty friendship between Rockman and
GyroMan.

Soul Unison: Sacrifice a Wind-Blowing Chip. (Chips with a sign of a puff
of wind. Eg. Tornado)

Element: None

Abilities:

Charged Attack: GyroTornado - Launches a tornado that hits 3 panels
ahead. Chart below shows the # of hits:
PPPPPP
PPM123
PPPPPP
#x (20 Damage + 5/Atk+1), # based on enemy's position.
Chip Attack: Wind Propellers - Using a Wind-Blowing Chip will set the
propellers spinning, doubling the next
Wind-Blowing/Normal Chip's damage.
OmniShoes: Rockman gets the effects of AirShoes, FloatShoes and
ShadowShoes, making him able to move over broken/mission
Panels, not break cracked Panels, and neglect all negative
Panel effects.

Pros:
- The double-damage could lead into some sick combos. Ovarshine, that
is.
- The Charged attack can be aimed for some good damage. Not too strong,
but useful.

Cons:
- If you miss with the charged attack, you're leaving yourself open
for free hits.
- The double-damage requires a Wind-Blowing Chip to be used

Acquire: After third Libration Mission (against CloudMan)

Chaos Unison: Chaos Gyro
Required Chip: DarkTornado
Charged Attack: DarkTornado - Launches a tornado cross centered two
panels ahead. Hits 8 times dealing 100 damage per hit.
Pretty sick if you ask me.
Range of Hit:
PPPHPP
PRHHHP
PPPHPP

============================

Napalm Soul

Description: A Soul that shows the blazing relationship between Rockman
and NapalmMan.

Soul Unison: Sacrifice a Fire Chip. (Chips with a sign of burning fire.
Eg. FirePunch1)

Element: Fire

Abilities:

Charged Shot: FireVulcan - A Vulcan that hits 3 times.
3x (10 Damage +5/Atk+1), Fire-Elemental.
Chip Attack: - Fire-Boost - Fire Chips gain a damage bonus of +40/hit.
- Napalm Bomb - Fire Chips can be charged into homing (as
in, aims for the Panel that the enemy's on) Napalm Bombs
that deals 2x the Fire Chip's damage.
FireShoes: Stepping over a LavaPanel will return it to Normal Panel and
the next Fire Chip gets a +10 Atk bonus.

Pros:
- Fire+40 + multi-hit Fire Chips (I know for sure that I saw a
Meteor-type Chip a while ago) = PAIN.
- Combine the Fire+40 with the LavaPanels for even MORE pain.

Cons:
- Weak against Aqua-Elemental attacks.
- If your enemy manages to avoid getting hit by the Vulcan (or has
SuperArmor NCP), you'll be the burnt toast.
- The Napalm Bombs can be easily avoided by moving away from the Panel.
- Failing to charge up the Fire Chips properly (it happens, no matter
how good you're at timing) will result in wasted Chips.
- You friggin' lose HP on Ocean Panels.
- The Charged Shot is weaker, most likely to balance out the sick
enhancements on Fire Chip usages.

Acquire: After fourth Libration Mission (against DarkRockman)

Chaos Unison: Chaos Napalm
Required Chip: DarkMeteor
Charged Attack: DarkMeteor - Randomly drops a load of aimed Meteors
on the enemies, dealing 200 damage each and breaks
unoccupied Panels that they hit.
Range of Hit:
HHHHHH
HMHHHH
HHHHHH

(Only hits in your area if enemy is in your area.)

============================

Search Soul

Description: A Soul that shows the true but hidden (<_<) friendship between
Rockman and SearchMan.

Soul Unison: Sacrifice an Aiming Chip. (Chips with a sign of a crosshair.
Ex. MarkCannon1)

Element: None

Abilties:

Charged Shot: Scope Gun - Fires a cross-hair at the panel that an enemy
is standing on. A 5-hit Vulcan then hits the cross-haired
Panel. Invisible and underground enemies CAN be hit with this.
5x (10 Damage + 5/Atk+1)
(Someone please correct me on this one)
Chip Attack: None
Chip Shuffle: You can shuffle your current Chips up to 3 times each turn.
A button that says "Shuffle" will appear on the bottomright
corner of the Custom Window.
Sensor: Invisibility and Yuka****a are removed during the Soul Unison
sequence. (Unconfirmed)

Pros:
- Murders enemies who use Invisible or Yuka****a. Even one hit with the
Vulcan will pull them out.
- Easily pulls out P.A.s by "locking" (selecting) necessary Chips before
Shuffling for other Chips. For example, you can "lock" Sword and WideSword
and Shuffle for LongSword.
- Deadly killer for immobile enemies.

Cons:
- The Charged shot is crap against rapid-moving enemies.
- Rockman cannot move while the Vulcan is being fired, which makes him
vulnerable while shooting.
- The Vulcan locks onto a Panel before firing, so you'll be the one who
gets shot if the enemy just walks away from the Panel before Rockman
shoot it.

Acquire: After 5th Liberation Mission (against CosmoMan, I believe.)

Chaos Unison: Chaos Search
Chip Required: DarkCircle
Charged Attack: DarkCircle - A cursor appears and circulates clockwise
in enemy area, completely NOT touching the center Panel.
Press A to stop the cursor and three more will appear
in the next three Panels. All four Panels will get hit
for 300 damage. Should there be a VDoll on any of the
locked panels, 300 more Curse damage will be applied.
Range of Hit:
PPPPPP
PMPPPS
PPPLLL

S = Stopped Cursor
L = Extra Lock-on

============================

Meddy Soul
(Thanks, complete credits and cookies goes to Lourde Incarnadine for
the info for this Soul)

Description: A Soul that shows the fusing (NO HENTAI THOGHTS PLEASE!!)
friendship between Rockman and Meddy.

Soul Unison: Sacrifice a Healing Elemental Chip. (Chips with two hearts.
Eg. Recov10)

Element: None

Abilities:

Charged Shot: Capsule Bomb - Throws a capsule 3 panels ahead. Should it
land without beind destroyed, it will blow up and hit one
panel above and under it. If it hits an enemy, it deals
damage and disappears.

Chip Fusion: Two colored Capsules will appear on the bottom-right corner
of the Custom Window. You can choose to fuse a Capsule onto
the Chip chosen. The Chip is used like normal, but depending
on the color of the Capsule, additional effects will be
added. (If the Chip itself already has an effect, the
effects of the second Chip chosen will override the first
one's effects) The Capsules' effects are as follows:
- Pink: HP Recovery for you when you throw the Capsule.
- Yellow: Adds Confusion to the attack.
- White: Adds Paralysis to the attack.
- Black: Adds Blinding to the attack.
- Purple: Unknown. Something about an HP Bug?

Pros:
- Fuse the Chips for some VERY annoying effects in NetBattles or Navi
Battles.
- When your HP is low, recover with the Pink Capsule.
- The Purple Capsule MAY have the ability to drain enemy HP......
Anyone wanna confirm this?

Cons:
- This Soul's Charged Shot is Bomb-based and has a rather small range,
which will render the Capsules completely useless should the enemy
somehow avoids getting hit.
- There's a short delay before the Capsule blows up. The enemy could
just break the Capsule before it blows.
- You can't fuse the Capsules with P.A.s.

Acquire: After 6th Liberation Mission (against DarkBlues)

Chaos Unison: Chaos Meddy
Chip Required: DarkRecovery
Charged Attack: DarkRecovery - ...... Nothing other than healing 1000HP.
Not useful if you have enough skill to dodge enemy
attacks. You don't get the HP Bug from the DarkRecovery
Chip by using this attack though.
Range of Hit:
PPPPPP
PMPPPP
PPPPPP

(Doesn't hit enemy since it's just a Recovery......)

============================

Blues Soul

Description: A Soul that shows the rivalry friendship between Rockman and
Blues.

Soul Unison: Sacrifice a Sword Chip. (Chips with a sign of a blue sword)

Abilties:
Charged Shot: WideSword - A normal Wide Sword.
80 Damage + 10/Atk+1
Chip Attack: Fumikumizan - Sword Chips can be charged to be used as
Fumikumizan, or StepSwords. Which means, Rockman will
teleport 2 spaces forward, then launch the Sword. The range
depends on the Sword itself and the damage is 2x Chip's
damage.
<- + B: Reflect: Activates a REFLECTIVE Shield that deals 50 Damage per
reflect. (Overrides the NCPs Shield, Reflect and
KawarimiMagic.)

Pros:
- The WideSword from the Charged shot can be used to Counter enemies.
- Charging up Variable Sword/Neo Variable will allow attacking enemies who
hide behind field obstacles with the Sonicbooms.
- Reflect from this Soul may be weak, but it doesn't take up the space in the
Navi Customizer.
- The new Sword Chips introduced in this game *coughtSamuraiSwordcough* makes
this Soul MUCH more worthy than it was in EXE4.

Cons:
- You'll HATE it when your enemies use IaiForm (a.k.a. Slasher) agaisnt your
Charged Chip attack.
- You COULD run into enemies while executing the Charged Chip attack. Your
Chip will be wasted and you'll take damage if that happens.
- Admit it, this Soul cannot charge P.A.s (DreamSword/LifeSrd, to be more
precise) so you can't really do too much damage in one hit.

Acquire: At the end of the Destroy Servers Scenario, after Meddy cures
DarkBlues' darkness.

Chaos Unison: Chaos Blues
Chip Required: DarkSword
Charged Attack: DarkSword - Launches a sword slash covering a 2x3 area
dealing 400 damage. Broken.
Range of Hit:
PPHHPP
PMHHPP
PPHHPP

Well, notice how the Dark Chips can actually be placed in your Folders
(instead of appearing when Rockman gets worried like in EXE4) and be used
as normal Chips? That's a hint about how they can be used for a special
Soul Unison called Chaos Unison. The Chaos Unisons have the following
effects:

- Becomes available after the Libration Mission against DarkRockman.
- Occurs when Rockman Soul Unisons with a Dark Chip.
- The Chaos Unisons correspond to the Soul Unisons available to you.
- Apparently much more powerful than the normal Soul Unisons.
- Charged attacks are based on the Dark Chip that you used to Chaos
Unison with.
- The Chaos Unison lasts for ONE turn and cannot be increased with
SoulTime NCP.
- You do NOT lose 1HP permanently, like you would when you use a Dark Chip.
- Should Rockman launch the Charged Shot when the charge sphere is in the
color of teal (instead of the normal purplish-pink), RockmanDS will break
apart from Rockman and join forces with the enemies.
- RockmanDS has no HP so it can't be deleted normally - he can only
be hurt by Chips that can damage but have no damage values, such
as AreaSteal and such.
- Rockman will return to his normal mode (no Soul Unisons) if RockmanDS
breaks out.
- You CANNOT switch from one Chaos Unison to another. Which means you
need to wait for one turn before Chaos Unisoning (is that even a word?)
using another Dark Chip.

aswell as using the souls of the extra navi's you also get to use the navi's themselves. (guess what gyroman (a gyroscope being what is used in planes and helicopters to help them fly) can fly WOW!!!).

If you read this far, give yourself a pat on the back, go outside, get some fresh air and get a girlfriend or a job, because you have way too much time on your hands.

i have images of all the souls aswell but i can't figure out how to post them as i am dumb, so if anyone can tell me how that'd be great and i'll post them next time. thats all from me steve and goodnight.

Posted by megaman91

Megaman battle network 5 team proto is so awesome!!!!!

Posted by Zero_44

so are the games the same except for the souls like in mmbn 4 or are they different?

Posted by Stalolin

Quoting Zero_44: so are the games the same except for the souls like in mmbn 4 or are they different?

I haven't played either, but my best guess is that they're similar to Battle Network 4.

It sounds like the game is a bit like how you completed missions before fighting someone in the tournament in MMBN 4 but the main storyline was still the same.

Both games with have the same introduction and the same ending but the content in the middle of the games will be vastly different.

Posted by stepharneo

from what i've seen so far from team protoman, and i'm pretty near the end, i would guess that the missions are the same but the bosses are different, only because for instance, searchmans mission is in japan, and it involves alot of ninla's and Samurai's, which makes no sense, unless the boss on team colonel was shadowman (a ninja). its confusing but the fact that you fight napalm man under water, whereas on team colonel you might fight toadman underwater. i am only gueesing that the mission's are the same because looking at colonel's navi's the mission's make sense whereas they don't for protoman's navi's.

Posted by Dark

I like this game. The whole "Liberation" system is pretty fun.

so what you are saying is that the storyline is basically the same between the two games then?

woah **** its out already? >:O *&@#$&@*#$(^*$@^)&$&@^$#@^@$ Im soo behind :(

Posted by megaman91

Man Nebula Grey is Hard! But i still beat him.

Posted by Dark Link

Well I have yet to face Nebula Gray (Final Boss) but my sister beat him after only two deaths. if she didn't have that much trouble as to Duo Omega in my MMBN4 file (She died about 30+ times before winning) then I can beat him no problem. His moves are simple to avoid and not that bad IMO.

Posted by Megabuster23857

Well i got to say that MMBN5 Team Protoman rocks!!!!
It's one of my favorite megaman battle network series games yet!!
The souls are great and liberation battles was a smart idea...
I'm only at the 3rd Comp. of the Cosmoman part...but i'm sure i'll beat it soon!!

Posted by megamanfan

Dude, Team colonel is the ****. The souls are soooooo much crazier than in Protoman *cough* Shadowman *cough*. And colonel just kicks ***.

I......can't swear?

Posted by Megabuster23857

No duh!! And wow you have all the souls that don't do that much!!! Protoman has *cough* napalmman *cough* Searchman *cough* everyone who is good!!! not like Colonel who has Toadman!!!W.T.F.!!! and numberman i bet he is a big help 2!! wow maybe i should get the game 2 ....not!

Posted by Dark Link

Beat the game. I was right about the final boss. Too easy...The Omega version BETTER be a lot tougher or Duo in MMBN4 will still be the hardest to beat.

MMBN5 Status: protoman Icon and Darkchip Complete Icon =D

Posted by goku262003

buhahahaha...i beat lord of chaos bass!
and you know what...he was easy easier then usual.

Posted by megamanfan

Dude, firstly, toadman lets you use darkwide chaos unison, so if u stand in the middle row, its and undogeable 300 damage that is super piercing. secondly, yes numberman does suck pretty bad, but dark plus is so cheap with chips that multi hit. such as bass. and searchman isn't that good. his charge takes long, plus its weak. you suck.

Posted by Zero_44

colonel is the best version, it has the best souls. i fought and beat my friend 6 times in a row. and we pretty much had the same folders.

Posted by Minesweeper

I'm playing Protoman right now. I'm up to the 100 Opponents battle in End City. It's not AS bad as the awful "mini games" in 4, but pretty darn close. Overall, it's a VAST improvment over 4: music is way better, the Liberation missions rock, the chips are pretty good. The text/grammar still needs SERIOUS help, though. As I said, the game is just that much better than 4... but not as good as 2 and 3. I do like NapalmSoul, though. Luv those machine guns.

And Toadman rules. :)

Hey guys. I guess by my name you can guess what version I got (Team Protoman DUH!!).

Anyways, it totally rocks!! I haven't stopped playing it since I got it except for my job and housework.

P.S. Thanks Megabuster for the website for the extremely cool avitar.

P.P.S. I was going to keep this to myself but if anyone is looking for the program compression codes (yes their back), go to gamefaqs.com.

P.P.P.S. Also, I give the award for most anoying part of the game to...drum roll...The 100 warriors fight in Gargoyle Castle in End City!!! (YAY...clap..clap..clap)

Nebula Gray, Bass, and Dark Megaman

To add on to the Lord of Chaos scenario, I will tell the times nessecary to fight each. This is the average time that you must defeat the DS navis in to fight each:

Dark Megaman: Under 20 or 25 seconds (not sure which it was)
Bass: 20 or 25 - 35 or 40 seconds (not sure which it was)
Nebula Grey: Anytime after that

Also this is what they will give you:

Dark Megaman: Nothing
Bass: Bass F (TP) or Bass Anlze F (TC)
Nebula Grey: Big Hook (TP) or MeteoKnuckle (TC) first time only

Oh and by the way, I got Team Colonel too now.

after getting protoman and playing my friends colonel, i'd say colonel is better overall, but, team protoman had all my favourite navi's, well Napalmman, but that's enough to satisfy my needs. oh and magnetman, but on a different note, both games are equally good, it depends how you use them.

Quoting Zero_44: colonel is the best version, it has the best souls. i fought and beat my friend 6 times in a row. and we pretty much had the same folders.

your friend must suck, i beat the crap out of my friend and i'd say that he's better than me, or i would've. this was my second megaman game that i completed (i also played 4), whereas my friend beat them all so far. but he hadn't mastered his souls and his deck didn't work with them. whereas mine combined well, although protoman's navi's are worse overall, using things like meddysoul's hp bug (the purple chip power-up thing), or chaos-napalmsoul's charge buster and searchsoul against shadowsoul (that was fun), i was able to win big-time, so don't just say that one version is crap, they're both pretty **** good. btw colonelsoul's arm change................mmmmmmm tasty.
