It's a bit long, but I'd appreciate it if you read 'em over. Because "I didn't read the rules!" is a bad excuse when you're caught disobeying them. ;)
With that said - obey or suffer large. -.-
Firstly, this blog is dedicated to sprite comics and random fun, but your opinions on other subjects (depending on the nature of the subject) are more than welcome as well.
You can speak freely here (within reason, of course), but I would ask that you keep any matters of a controversial nature the heck away from my blog. I only want for everyone to be able to enjoy themselves and feel comfortable posting in my blog.
I appreciate any and all input. If you notice something wrong and it isn't dealt with right away, feel free to PM me. If you have issues with something I've done in the blog, please PM me. I care! =3
As always, everyone have fun, and keep it clean!
I WILL NOT TOLERATE THE FOLLOWING ANYWHERE IN MY BLOG:
Bad-mouthing, insulting, flaming, hurtful, and/or generally harrassing posts towards anyone. Feel free to comment on and offer constructive critisism of art/sprite works, but be helpful. Non-constructive critisism, a.k.a. flaming, teasing, insulting, etc., is not appreciated and will be dealt with.
1337-speak, excessive gibberish, and poor English. One or two joke posts are fine (I DO have a sense of humor, y'know), but otherwise it won't be tolerated. Remember : punctuation is your FRIEND. Everyone will appreciate that you put some effort into making your posts understandable, and you thusly make yourself that much harder to flame.
SPAM. SPAM in my blog and I will delete your post(s) without mercy. Continue to SPAM and I will offer your head to the Super-Mods on a platter.
Too much off-topic posting in threads not exclusively set aside for craziness. This includes any game-related threads, stickied threads, and comics threads. Have fun, but don't ruin someone's comics thread with random conversations. ^^
Huge posts consisting of one or two words repeatedly pasted over and over and over and over... even in the fun threads, these posts will be deleted and you will subsequently be hunted down and shot on sight.
Crudeness or explicit content. Keep it fairly kid-friendly. I don't mind some swearing in comics, but not in posts. Be sensible about it.
RULES REGARDING SPRITES AND COMICS:
The theft of sprites, no matter from who or from where, will result in the immediate deletion of all your posts in this blog.
This is something I will NOT take lightly. The theft of a sprite, be it from a thread here, or somewhere else, will not only get you in trouble with us, but whomever originally made/edited the sprite, and in some cases legal action can be taken, so just don't do it.
Want someone to cameo in your comic? Ask 'em. Really, how much more simple could it be? ><; Don't use sprites without permission. Sprite theft is bad, m'kay?
Have a large picture or sprite sheet? Please make it a link instead of an image. It's a little annoying having to scroll down them, especially if there is more than one on a page. If you've posted a sheet and come back later to find it turned into a url, I've edited the post for you.
Please make only one thread per artistic subject - in other words, make only one thread for all your comics, or banners, or artwork, etc. The exception is if you have more than one continuing comic series, you can make one thread for each series. Keeps clutter to a minimum, and gives everyone a fighting chance to stay in view.
However, feel free to make different threads for different artistic ventures - for example, a comic thread, a banner thread, and an art thread. But don't make a new thread for every new comic and piece of art that you do.
You can double-post to bump a comics thread as long as you have an update or are responding to someone's comments.
Do NOT post your comics in someone else's thread. Make your own thread.
Every comic author loves it when someone tells 'em they enjoyed the comics, but please try to add a little more content to your comments than just "OMG I luved it!" Enough posts like that do count as spam, so while your comment doesn't have to be a three-page essay, be sure to try and add just a little flavour to your comments to avoid annoying the authors.
Not every sprite work is going to actually be good. Don't just come right out and flame it. If you're going to post your thoughts on it and they're on the negative side, at least be constructive. For one, tell the author ways you think they could improve their work. If it's just flat-out terrible, I highly doubt it's going to get any better with nothing but put-downs. Still, negative criticism is allowed to a point. If it's a flame outright, it'll be deleted.
