PLAY IT ON THIS

"Before, you've always just thought, 'how do I attack this monster?' or 'how do I beat this monster?' Now, you have to take into account how the monster behaves, what kind of special adaptations it has, what kind of special abilities it has. Now, it's not just a simple matter of how you can just beat it. You have to actually use your head. It's more strategic. We think this will make the game a lot more interesting." — Ryozo Tsujimoto

HELL YEAH

"Monsters up to now were largely discrete in nature, not really concerned much about others. In this game, they are constantly being influenced by who and what is around them. If the main boss monster in an area moves just a little, the entire situation nearby changes. Monsters deliberately attack each other all the time." — Capcom's Producer and Director of MH3

WOO

"How the monsters in each field are related, and how they live with each other, plays a large role in the game. In previous games, the situations you encountered in each area were scripted to some extent, but here, everything is constantly on the move in each environment, so your experience changes with that." — Capcom's Producer and Director of MH3

Please. The Japanese haven't made a difficult game since 1992.

That said, I am looking forward to it. Adventurin's my game.

MONSTER HUNTER IS BASTARD HARD FUCK YOU.

Posted by WillisGreeny

I'm no fan of the franchise simply because they make it too hard to keep my interest in the begining.

Posted by Speedfreak

Admitting you're a pussy is the first step towards solving the problem.

Seriously, it's not even that hard in the beginning unless you also found Super Mario Bros too difficult to learn.

It's not the gameplay I'm calling difficult, it's collecting **** that got boring for me. I didn't find the environments enjoyable to explore, thus making it hard for me to continue being interested.

Then stop collecting shit and start killing shit. What's wrong with you? It's not WoW, equipment upgrades are not remotely necessary. When you kill enough and get a farm you barely ever have to go gathering again.

Posted by WillisGreeny

Never played WoW, so I don't think that was my problem.

Then get huntin', boy! It's Monster Hunter, not Item Getter.

So I found a barely-used copy of the original Monster Hunter for PS2 for cheap about a week ago. How far behind the times in terms of new features etc. is it in relation to the most recent PSP version and this one for Wii? And how do those two newest versions compare? Anyone complaining about item grabbing obviously doesn't get as much pleasure out of making a scantily-clad monster huntress dig around in poo as I do.

I've been wanting to try this series for a while now. I may finally do so with this new one.

The basic gist of the game is there, there's just a ton of new features that make your life easier and a bunch of new weapon classes and monsters. I suppose it's comparable to Pok
