Whenever I spoke of Fallout, my boyfriend made a joke that I never failed to mention my partner in the game, Charon. He said it seems like I had a crush on Charon. For those of you who don't know, Charon is a ghoul slave you find in the Underworld that you can either pay for or kill for. When used correctly, partners in Fallout can be valuable allies that can be fitted with heavy armor and carry their own weapons. I never lost Charon.
Because of the joke of my "crush" on Charon, I decided to make sequence of images from a personal experience in Fallout 3 with Charon and my second partner, Dogmeat (a fighting dog I met that can follow me like Charon does). Anyone that values their partner as much as I do can see a combination of humor and seriousness in it, since you would feel the same way I did when this particular story occurred. It's not meant to be just funny and it's not meant to be just serious. I'll post one shot every few days or so.
Side note: all pages were done on my HTC Touch Pro smartphone with an added Paint-like program installed that allows me to use my stylus to draw with. I thought it would be nice to do. The pictures posted are larger than what I actually worked on.

Well, Fate, even if X is purposely ignoring the point of this thread, I think it's pretty cool. I haven't even played any Fallout games at all, but it's pretty sweet that you're drawing these up on a tiny touch screen and telling a story.
yeah this is pretty cool to be honest, you should have a lil more description with each panel though
I thought about adding more description, but I figured that it wouldn't make sense to anyone that didn't play Fallout in the first place anyways. The reason I'm doing this is because from a non-gaming standpoint, it's kind of funny that I placed so much importance in my partners to the point where I spoke of them in real life as if they were to exist. "Me and Charon met this huge Behemoth" and "Dogmeat tried to take it down" and all that. They really meant something to me, and rarely does a game possess that kind of depth, even for a game as technically partner-shallow as Fallout (they never respond or do anything besides assist you).
Cool, keep em comin.

Kind of destroys the narrative if I don't have the imagery. It's not meant to be serious enough to warrant even the basic level of description you're talking about. I'm basing it on these factors:
1. You've played Fallout 3 and remember the precise starting point of where you escape the Enclave's base.
2. You valued your partners.
3. You know of or partnered up with either Charon or Dogmeat.

Yep, except for the hair since they don't have my style.
I tried to stay away from the animukeke drawings but they kind of shift into that when I draw myself. :(

If you play it right it can last for months! lots and lots and lots and lots and...and lots of side quests.

And you get your choice of a partner, too! Although I suspect I took care of my partners better than most people...
Because I never replaced them and I never let them die; if they did die then I would go back to my last save, no matter how far I got. I assume a lot of people would probably find the next partner or wouldn't care.
So there's a limit to how many partners you can have? Where's the next drawing?
There's a few temporary partners (quest-related) and perma-partners. Charon and Dogmeat are my perma-partners. Fawkes, Jericho, and that chick from the Brotherhood are the only other options I can think of.

Can't use partners. Every single one has just made the experience way worse because I brought them into a place they shouldn't be and everyone attacked them and they attacked everyone, or they'd get stuck on rocks, or they'd die and I'd have to restart or etc etc.
but this stuff is good so whatever.
kinda ruins the desolate wasteland atmosphere when you seen fawkes stomping around laughing and crap
fawkes rules. Though I took him into the republic of dave and everyone died so I was like "all right, your fired"

listened to that station for ten minutes at the beginning haven't listened to it since.
I'm buying the GNR soundtrack. It's brilliant.
And Charon is the best partner because he's my partner. I wouldn't have gotten through some of the stuff I faced if it wasn't for him. Plus, he acted like a radar and went after dudes that I couldn't even see.
I find combat hecka easy as is. that AC plasma rifle and lincoln repeater pretty much takes everything out in a couple hits. Though even with the chinese assault rifle it's pretty easy to breeze past most stuff.
i used the one-of-a-kind sniper for almost everything and owned
there's a few of those.
though snipers are all right. Repeater is more fun to use and more accurate.
I don't have those weapons you're talking about. I went with that robot dude's plasma rifle.

The repeater is hella easy to get and it's awesome. All you gotta do is fight ghouls.

wtf, I combed through everything in that memorial and all I found was a book and a figurine. :(
that guns owns. the ammo however, at least for me, was on the harder side to find.
I kept a lot of my special weapons and items locked up because I didn't know if they were repairable or not until later in the game. I'm a pack rat.

the gun is really deep in the place. Probably didn't look far enough in or something. And the ammo is some of the rarer stuff, but you eventually find more and more further in the game and it doesn't take many hits to kill anything, so it balances out.
as for the repair thing, that's where the wiki comes in handy.
