Standard Definition Set Top Box.. High Definition Set Top Box.. What next?

Posted by misogenie

Since I bought the new standard definition set top box as Christmas gift under $40 two weeks ago, my parents' annoyance for the old TV channel system that had some tiny electrical powerline interference with one or two TV channels, had disappeared since the fine clear picture of the digital TV channels were shown on their old square 34 inch Panasonic 1990s model TV which uses the red/white/yellow video/audio cable connected to the AV socket. Being poor pensioners relying on the government for super, my parents wished they won lotto so that they can afford a high definition plasma TV and a high definition set top box to get the high definition digital TV channels. My christmas gift for them would be thrown in the bin if they suddenly win the Saturday lotto next week.

If they get a TV with the tuner built in, they won't need a high def box.

So did NZ do a complete switch to digital already?
