The acorn weevil could be the evil aliens. This little trumpet-nosed beetle lays the eggs inside the nut. As they grow as larva worms they escape the malnourished nut to the soil and transform as beetles after going through hypersleep. Maybe the birds desire for human food scraps rather than insects have created weevil heaven in many gardens where the poor oak tree would have to rely on genetic engineering to fight off this insectomaniac. :eek::cool:
