[quote]According to gamesindustry.biz, the UK game industry, currently in third place behind the US and Japan, will be surpassed by Korea, Canada and China next year. (GP: by our math, that would make the UK number 6).
It's not like publishers need another reason to put Europe as an afterthought...
Shit sucks. I hope Canada is a nice place to live.
man, the UK has no big studios at all
of course it's going to fail
i mean, how could we ever stand up to all the american studios
like rockstar, rare, media molecule, lionhead, criterion, free radical...
there's just no contest
Our Government doesn't give a damn about the game's industry, we're the next step above porn to them despite the fact that we (probably) account for more revenue than our shitty film industry that produces one faggoty movie starring Hugh Grant every 2 years, something to do with drugs or gangs or both and some retarded organised crime flick.
Rare weren't that great anyway.
*speedfreak cocks shotgun, curls toe around the trigger*
Rare was AWESOME in its glory days. And, meh. Doesn't really matter to me, as long as I keep getting GREAT VIDJA GAMES
Rare would be good again if they were pumping out the same amount of games they used to.
Or they would be good again if they pumped out good games. I can easily see Rare pumping out game after game, but having all of them be crappy. I'd rather see a studio that pushes out an amazing game every three years instead of five mediocre games every one year.
Ideally, a studio that pushes out five amazing games in a year!
Well, that was Rare. They'd put out a ton of **** and a ton of good. They'd be good again if they went back to doing that.
most of the n64 era rare aren't there anymore
SEMPER DR DOAK
Canada might be behind the UK right now but it's growing, a lot of studios are there or are being set up there. In the UK the situation is the opposite, they're closing down because we get zero support from the government.
Thought this was about sales and not developers/publishers. Now it makes sense.
That explains why you were asking about the population. I was a little confused.
I took industry to mean revenue and sales, rather than an actually industry putting out product.
this is why you click links
the UK chart owns
- WII PLAY
- WII MUSIC
- WII FIT
- FIFA 09
- PRO EVO 09
- TIGER WOODS 09
- MOVIE GAME 1
- MOVIE GAME 2
- MOVIE GAME 3
- LATEST SHOOTAN
You know, that doesn't look that different from our sales charts. I haven't checked them lately though so maybe I'm wrong.
Replace racing and soccer games with shooting and American football games.
Wii Fit is the number one seller of the year. Followed by GTAIV iir.

Thought we were talking world sales.
