I'll never have 10k posts. My post count now (3,433) has been carried over since about February 2003 when i returned from a 2 month absence.

Also, it's not hard to move entire boards into post-counting ones through the mod cp. Just empty out something like the Literature board into an unimportant, nearly empty, hidden one like Big Brother. Move all DA posts into Literature, check post counts, move back, and then move Big Brother posts back to Literature.

Postin' this inquiry in a thread about The X beacue The X p. much equates to X-Bawks.
Think I'm going to ask for a 360 this Christmas. My mom was talking about getting me a new laptop this year, since my old one is busted, but the system I've got worked out with my brother where I borrow his whenever he's home with it and use his desktop when he's at school is working out very comfortably. So, seeing as she was contemplating spending like a thousand bucks on a good laptop (*** knows why, I thought we were tight on money right now) I figure I can ask for a $200 gaming console without forfeiting all rights to other gifts. And even if I do, well, I've been wanting an X-Bawks for quite a while now anyway.
The thing is is that, because I've never owned the original Bawks let alone a 360, I'm unfamiliar with a lot of the franchises that are popular. I've heard names thrown around, of course, but paid little attention since it wasn't stuff I could play, and now I can't remember much of it. So, what good 360 exclusive stuff is there I could/should put on my Christmas list to accompany the console itself? So far, the games I've considered that I knew about are:
Gears of War
Halo 3
Tales of Vesperia
Banjo Threeie
Lay it on me.
EDIT - I know about Fallout 3 also, but I'm just now looking and playing the originals, so that one's on the back burner for now.

I know nothing about Gears of War other than that it's a big title. I'd go for the first one first just because I assume there is a story to it and **** if I'm getting started in the middle. Single-player gaming generally comes first for me.
Halo is just, well, I played the rest of the series, might as well finish it. I guess if you say it's that bad I could just beat it via rentals. Not like I personally ever owned any of the rest of the series.
Vesperia is a Tales game, so I know it's worth playing.
Banjo Kazooie I've not heard great things about, but since I played the other ones and therefore knew it as an X-Bawks game, I added it to my list.
And I actually don't like RPG's that much! I mean, I like them plenty, but I like Shootan just as much if not a little more. Platforming is definitely my #1.

Hey The X, got AIM or MSN? Probably be easier to just talk about it that way. I'll have to log onto MSN if it's that, though, since I normally don't bother being on MSN unless I have a reason to, so AIM preferred.
I'd say Halo 3 is a rental. I beat it in one sitting and I can't stand the online. Too laggy, sometimes you can get a car from nowhere coming crashing down on your head, and the amount of kids sitting there, screaming in horny rage is frustrating as hell.

So as it turns out my mom probably did not think about what a good laptop would run her for, because when I said, "hey Mom, don't worry about a new laptop this Christmas, I can think of much cooler things to spend a thousand bux on right now," she was like, "no way I'm spending a thousand bux on you unwanted son of mine." So, reconsidering asking for an X-Bawks... might prefer getting just as many games as I can, since I haven't been buying them lately, to tide me over until I get my own monies for a Bawks. Depends on the game, really. Games like Oblivion are a lot better on PC due to the vast amount of mods and stuff, but I tend to like the controls better on console games.

gears 1 doesn't have a story. just thought I'd point that out. And I seriously mean that. All you find out is that marcus did something to end up in jail that involved his father and him and delta squad go through the whole game trying to blow up a bomb and then they do and it has no impact at all. That is the entire story.
