Five songs to play at your wedding and funeral?

Posted by Kendra, Warrior Babe

See the title. I shouldn't have to explain.
So, what are they? And no Rick Rolling, here.

For me....

Wedding:

White Trash Wedding - The Dixie Chicks - Just to screw with my parents, I guess.
The Phantom of the Opera - Nightwish - I don't especially like this song, but it sickens me how many times the movie soundtrack is played at weddings.
This Ain't A Love Song - Motley Crue - Again, just to screw with my parents.
Marry Me - Emilie Autumn - Just to screw with the groom.
Trinidad - EdGuy - Dunno. Just want to.

Funeral:

Rock 'N' Roll Heaven - The Righteous Brothers - Because its too perfect.
Goin' Out Swingin' - Motley Crue - The title says it all.
Dead Is The New Alive - Emilie Autumn - See above.
Glory To The Brave - Hammerfall - A little presumptuous (did I spell that right?) but I nice dying death song.
Thank *** I'm Pretty - Emilie Autumn - If for nothing else, that is what I can be remembered for.

Quoting Kendra, Warrior Babe: Thank *** I'm Pretty - Emilie Autumn - If for nothing else, that is what I can be remembered for.

Being a mock-narcissistic goth chick who should stick to playing the violin? :)

Wedding:
Rilo Kiley - I Never
Kate Bush - Wuthering Heights
Weezer - Falling For You
Silverchair - Across the Night
Tori Amos - Jackie's Strength

As long as it wouldn't deteriorate into complete camp.

Funeral:
Nightwish - Ghost Love Score
Dream Theater - Octavarium
Tori Amos - Winter

Yes, I would make everyone sit through all 24 minutes of Octavarium.

That's part of the humour, making people sit through 10/24-minute songs. Much better than playing Another One Bites the Dust or Always Look on the Bright Side of Life, eh? (also there should be a good 60 years of music until then)

Can't believe I forgot November Rain by Guns N' Roses for the wedding, too. The music video's imagery is just epic (excluding the whole thing about the bride dying for no reason).

Wedding:

Don't You Evah - Spoon
A Sunset Song - Sigh
Still Jolly After All These Years - iwrestledabearonce
Open the Abcess - Exhumed
The Greatest Lie - Circa Survive
Rehab - Amy Winehouse

Funeral:

Any Megaman song would do fine.
