Mother 3 is kicking my heart in the nads

the build up was so good. yet the ending left me underwhellmed. which is a shame.

great game. but in the long run I'm probably going to put Earthbound > Mother 3. age might have some part in that. since I was 11 when I first played earthbound.

So the other day I was playing Fable and learned that you could continue playing if you watched the credits.. so I did. And watched. And watched. And watched some more. Then, after some fifteen minutes, it ended, and joyfully, the game froze.

The frustration was tongue-numbing.

I think I just got the thing stuck out of the back of my teeth for the past 3 hours with my tongue. It was tongue numbingly annoying.

****tier main quest, superior everything else. And who plays WRPGs for the main quest anyways? All about the side quests.

first fallout game was a d20-style rpg on the PC that used sprites. awesome but ****ing steep as **** learning curve.

was based on an alternate reality where american private industries built huge nuclear bunkers and sold them to communities in order to prevent them from being nuked by the soviets. nukes start dropping, and most of humanity is wiped out. as with most consumer products, the vaults are faulty and open irregularly, with some opening too early, others too late. FO1 was about a guy from one of the vaults setting out into the wasteland of california to try and retrieve water chips in order to fix his vault and save its community. ultimately ended up being exiled by his fellow vault dwellers for making friends with mutants and outcasts, even though he got the job done.

second fallout was about a grandson of FO1's protagonist and the tribal village that had been founded by him following the events of the first game. the engine and gameplay was essentially copypasta and the storyline wasn't as good (they added more hookers and drugs and **** to the point of excess), but i still liked it.

also you could marry in FO2 and sell your husband/wife into slavery which was pretty awesome

also, i'm pretty sure it's hinted at some point that vault-tec tried to increase tensions during the cold war to drive sales but ultimately ****ed up and actually caused the nuking to begin

main quest in oblivion was the worst part of the whole game and the last thing i did in it. YOU DONT EVEN GET TO FIGHT A FINAL BOSS *** ****

i like the part where you attack the final oblivion gate with sean bean and the 'amassed armies of cyrodill' which is essentially 6 NPCs on horses

Best thing I ever did in Oblivion was trick a guard to dive off the bridge after me. Pretty sure I posted the full story in the Currently Playing thread, gonna go look for it.

It's a fact the best thing you can do is start a massive goblin war, then run and get a bunch of monsters, shadowmere and guards and lead them to the war and just have massive brawl.

Probably a buy since I actually liked the first one.

Definitely a rent rather than a buy.

- Bad Company is alright I guess but I don't like the way it handles.
- Fable 2 is probably a buy since it's an RPG and ****
- Bioshock can definitely be rented. Great game, but I haven't played it since the week after I bought it.
- Force Unleashed can also be rented and beaten on the same day.
- Orange Box should be bought if you never tried it on PC.
- Gears should just be a rent then buy Gears 2.

other games you might wanna check out though probably not because jesus christ a lot of games are coming this christmas:

- virtua fighter 5. only 3d fighting game that's good. ever.
- assassin's creed. rental. i know it gets shat on a lot, but just play through the first three assassinations because the gameplay is pretty awesome
- skate (skate 2 in january w00t). best skateboarding game ever, insane community features.
- rainbow six vegas 2. REALLY GOOD SHOOTAN with a persistent character and awesome tactical stuff going on. plus side to it is, you wont have played vegas 1 so there's no 'AWWW ****IN REHASH' feeling to it!

Ten bucks says he will hate Rainbow. I can just feel it for some reason. Even though it's awesome.
