First suggestion that comes to mind is Grist by Drumcorps. Try that out, though it might be different than what you're used to. I consider it as music to kick ass to, and I think it's "driving music" in more than one way. I can hook you up if need be. Bong-Ra's Full Metal Racket is another good one.

Anything by Flight of the Conchords would be hella fun on a 16 hour ride.

My advice would be don't listen to a list of songs. They won't be long enough and will get repetitive fast. Buy a few CDs or a Sirius Radio.

Ben Folds.

Quoting Iron Koala: Ben Folds.

Now that you mention it, I wholeheartedly agree. Songs like "One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces" and "Song for the Dumped" (off of Whatever and Ever Amen) are classic. Angry white boy piano pop that you just can't help but sing along to.

Agreed back at ya. I actually spent 20 hours learning how to play One Angry Dwarf on the piano... And it was completely worth it. The solo and everything. Ben Folds is a treat :D

Anything with excessive amounts of catchy choruses and clapping. Because those two things are only awesome when you're on a road trip.

Or Basket of Death. Because if clapping isn't awesome then excessive bass is. ****'s so cash it'll shake your windows from their frames.

when I drove from Philly to Alabama, it didn't matter what I played. .. I eventually drowned it all out after about 8 hours. But I did enjoy some Idlewild and Fleetwood Mac and Soilwork for the portion I can remember.

You need to at least have one song by Queen. That one song, "Bohemian Rhapsody". If you've all seen Wayne's World you'll know why.

"Powah Booost" by Palamitysplat.

Oh, wait...

songs that are thoguht of as good driving songs tend to inspirie driving that can easily earn tickets. so if you want to make good time/risk a ticket listen to badass **** like Deep Purple's "Highway Star" (c'mon, how can nobody have said that yet?).

If not, find something more laid back and coma inducing you lull your brain to sleep during the drive.

As a third alternative, finding recordings of standup comedy can be a fun way to pass the time, and is unliekly to ispire idiotic driving.

Porn Peice or Scars of Cold Kisses by Ulver if it's raining.

Anything by St-Germain if it's night time.

As Vivid as Possible by Sabrepulse if you just want stimulation.
