Call of Duty 4. Not only one of the greatest single-player experiences out there, but the best online shooter. That and Vegas 2. That's all you'll ever need for online.

Burnout online is ridiculously smooth.
And generally fun to chill out with despite all the X-TREME SPEED. Just cruising around and attempting challenges is a blast.
