In this thread only list films that you enjoyed, but have a world wide hate. Examples include Batman Forver and anything by Bwe Boll.
Wild Wild West
Seriously what was wrong with this? It was fun! A fun film! I thought the giant spider was cool too :(
Gotta agree with Wild Wild West. Wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be.
And I like both AVP movies. I can admit they're pretty close to a travesty to both franchises and are pretty bad, but it's the closest I'll get to see them on the big screen in a long time.
Oh, and Spirits Within.
can't think of any others right now.
Freddy Got Fingered
I use quotes from this movie so often. Everyone hated it and/or hates Tom Green. But, by ***, I loved this movie. Watching it with friends helps, too.
Are you kidding me? I loved Freddy Got Fingered, my brother let me watch it when I was..what 8-10?
Okay, this one's gonna sound stupid, but the old animated Animal Farm was awesome, one of my favourite movies to watch, in fact.
Well, I dunno if everyone hated it, but the whole class I watched in hated it because 'it's so unrealistic how the animals spoke' My only reply to them was that George Orwell was probably rolling in his grave.
Gerry, Elephant, Punch-Drunk Love, and Bride & Prejudice.
Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas
I don't care what anybody says, this one rocked.
Wait... people didn't like Wild Wild West?
Speed Racer the movie.
Wait... people didn't like Wild Wild West?
No, people did not.
Treasure Island. That kicked ***, but every time I say so... People seem to get this look in their eye, you know, the kind of look you get when you watch commercials with poor kids from Ethiopia on them.
The new Speed Racer was actually fairly epic. It was so much fun, wonderfully cheesey, the cars looked awesome.
Wild, Wild West was a great show. I don't get what peoples' problem was.
The 2006 Phantom of the Opera got a lot of undue hate. :(
The 2006 Phantom of the Opera got a lot of undue hate. :(
Can't understand why that would be-
people should be thankful that it didn't turn out like that *** awful Robert Englund fail..
As for my picks, I'd have to go with:
Juno, which I was actually called "gay" for enjoying.
The Squid and the Whale, I thoroughly enjoyed the **** out of this.
I thought Merlin (the one with Sam Neill) was pretty ****ing awesome. No one I know seemed to think so, though.
That's because Sam Neill is an unbelievable character in most of the parts he takes on. In Jurassic Park, he had always seemed a bit disconnected while on screen..
Southland Tales. Critics all seem to hate it, but I'm going to insist that it's because they're idiots since most complaints seem to be "IT DUZNT MAKE SENSE LOL" but it does... if you're not an idiot.
Or it only makes sense to idiots.
No... no.
how would an idiot like you know?
cuz I sawr it on the teevee!
The original Hulk. I don't think it's great and it's not that good as a Hulk movie, but in the overall scheme of things I thought it was a pretty good movie
SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME THEY LIKED THAT ANIMATED SINBAD MOVIE
Ellen Page's face isn't annoying, she's cute.
Southland Tales. Critics all seem to hate it, but I'm going to insist that it's because they're idiots since most complaints seem to be "IT DUZNT MAKE SENSE LOL" but it does... if you're not an idiot.
It was 'tarded, plain and simple..
Or it only makes sense to idiots.
It made perfect sense, the Rock likes porn stars..
SINBAD MOVIE SUCKED!
Legend is fantastic.
I love Anger Management and everybody else I know hates it for some reason.
Also, A&E's epic six hour Pride and Prejudice.
Anger Management was a movie destined for win.
Another one I loved was the original Bring It On.
My sister liked the Super Mario Brothers movie, but... eh, no.
I like Adam Sandler movies. Everyone seems to hate those. I really, really liked Click.
I liked Rush Hour 3, too. I was laughing pretty much the entire time.
Everyone seems to love his films, besides Punch-Drunk Love, which is my favorite of his.
I like Adam Sandler movies. Everyone seems to hate those. I really, really liked Click.
Maybe because the other million adam sandlers are annoying as hell, and knowing there's an official Adam Sandler getting paid millions to show other adam sandlers how to be asses becomes annoying in each new installment.
Click and Spanglish were ok: but Billy Maddison, Happy Gilmore, Water Boy, The Wedding Singer, Big daddy, 50 first dates, and Eight Crazy nights, were just blehhhhhhhhh.
Water boy had me bol a couple time when I first saw it. But Happy Gilmore will always be my favorite of his.
Billy Maddison for me, but yeah, can't go wrong with Happy Gilmore.
Everyone loves Adam Sandler and his ****ty movies. Happy Gillmore alone gets a huge following. His movies dont count because everyone and their dogs loves that jew.
Unless you're talkibg about Everyone Loves Jew and Fat Man.
Just everyone admit and agree on the fact that the first watch-through of any Adam Sandler flick each has it's own individual valid attempts at bols. And that anything further upon viewing his catalog is almost certain to either be blehhhhh or gtfooh..
Of course with the exception of Eight Crazy Nights and Punch Drunk Love. Because they sucked, which is notable for their lack of a screenlife, let-alone any shelf life in your average peon fan's cinemedial collection.
More accurate.
The Water Boy is the greatest comedy film ever made. Fucking fist yourself with a glove made of bricks.
Why, a glove wrapped in razor wire is more effective-
no?
Considering a glove made of bricks would end up being the size of a small BBQ, no.
what wait? I didn't realise I left water boy in. oops. It's basically happy gilmore and billy maddison but with football. can't go wrong with that
How about Chuck and Larry? Is it ok to not like that movie?
idk, I liked it :(
what wait? I didn't realise I left water boy in. oops. It's basically happy gilmore and billy maddison but with football. can't go wrong with that
I now have two loves in my life: big city living and a voodoo woman named Phillis.
I guess one for me would be The Fountain, seems not many people enjoyed it, but I loved it.
idk, I liked it :(
-ditto, old man.
Don't feel so down about it. My girlfriend thought me to be gay for enjoying it, even THAT much.
Solaris (LOVED this movie)
Heavy Metal (all my friends hate it)
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull *dodges projectiles*
You Got Served (so bad, it's good)
Every single Rambo movie
Citizen Kane (people nowadays don't appreciate the classics)
Grease
Major Payne
Is that the original Solaris of the Mel Gibson one? I've only seen the remake with the jew hater and I loved it too. I think most people were unimpressed with Indiana Jones. I agree on Citizen Kane. A great film that few people today admire and respect the classic. It changed film so much but people are put off because "its in black and white and old and brrraaaaaaaaawwwww!!!!"
the new Solaris, but Mel Gibson isn't in it. It's George Clooney. The soundtrack rocked, too.
Sorry thats who I meant. I dont know why I said Mel Gibson. The imagery was beautiful. I imagine if I had a better understanding of philosophy I'd get alot more out of it. Have you seen The Fountain?
no, but judging by the mentions of it previously in this thread, I should
Heavy Metal (all my friends hate it)
Your friends are retarded.
Seriously. Heavy Metal is ****ing badass. Heavy Metal 2000... not so much.
Heavy Metal 2000... not so much.
Julie Strain and Kevin Eastman seem to have that affect..
solaris is 10X better with director's commentary, too. Get to see what he was "going for" and how far off you were. It's like literature! I'll probably read the book now.
I didnt know it was based on a book!
Seriously check out The Fountain. If you like Solaris you owe it to yourself to see The Fountain! You won't be disappointed.
Starship Troopers.
I would seriously take that movie with me wherever i went like a bible and refer to it whenever i have a question about life.
No one hates Starship Troopers. NO ONE. What are you talking about? He's lying. Don't trust him everyone! He's a liar!
People always talk about it being cheesy and whatnot.
Oh yeah and Cloverfield, that movie fucking rocks.
People I've talked to that hated the Starship Trooper movie the most had all read the orignal book by Robert A. Heinlein, which they're quick to point out WASN'T A COMEDY AT ALL. Meh, I thought the film was alright.
the Starship Troopers book was infinitely better than the movie, as is the usual.
I didn't like the Starship Troopers movie because all of the main characters looked like models and I felt the acting was forced. *shrug*
I didn't like the Starship Troopers movie because all of the main characters looked like models and I felt the acting was forced. *shrug*
Well, kind of hard to get around that BJ.. when you're casting Casper Van Dien in the lead role. Mr. Rasczak (Michael Ironside) and Career Sgt. Zim (Clancy Brown) were about the only characters that didn't come off all Cover Girl and GQ in teh armour..
saw 1, 2, & 3. 4, Not so much.
Also, eight crazy nights. :(
Kentucky Fried Movie
I like Van Helsing and The Longest Yard.
I had to google The Longest Yard to remember which of the hundreds of ****ty football movies that is
Hint Vamp, they both had Burt Reynolds in them..and sucked the same.
Don't forget the critically acclaimed British remake Mean Machine starring loveable and public adored Vinnie Jones.
Oh yeah i forgot about Van Helsing! Add that to my list. Vampires, werewolves and Frankestein's monster all in one movie? You say bad acting and terrible plot, i say deeelicious.
Good movie, thumbs up.
Don't forget the critically acclaimed British remake Mean Machine starring loveable and public adored Vinnie Jones.
Now that you mention Vinnie Jones.. worst Juggernaut EVER.
I liked Spiderman 3, sure it wasn't as good as the first 2, and the ****ed up on Venom but it was a pretty good movie. I mean c'mon...THERE'S A DANCE NUMBER!
Pretty sure THAT was one of the main reasons i didnt like it
Only reason it sucked in my opinion is Venom. All hyped up prior and then what do they do? Put Venom in for the last 15 minutes with 13 of those minutes without his mask. How do you **** that up?
My only reason it sucked is because it lacked character development for the villains in a series that was known for it's character development. That and the pure rape of the Spiderman comics. That and it was embarrassing to watch. That and it sucked.
My only reason it sucked is because it lacked character development for the villains in a series that was known for it's character development. That and the pure rape of the Spiderman comics. That and it was embarrassing to watch. That and it sucked.
That and Topher Grace was a horrible selection for Eddie Brock/Venom.
The black costume didn't last long enough, Peter's transition into evil was rushed. Venom should've been saved for 4.
Venom should've been the main villain in 3, Sandman should've never been included.
Yeah, Topher was fine. I actually thought he was cast fairly well. It's just his part felt so horribly rushed.
Quit digging into it, the movie just ****ing sucked in general. Sam Raimi sucks in general. Topher Grace DOES suck in general. Beefed up Venom sucks, but that doesn't ultimately make Spidey 3's Venom any better.
This is possibly the best literary Venom substance..
the bottom line is that change was not good in this case. choosing to have 3 villains at the same time seemed to turn out worse than when it was just 1.
so yeah I DO agree that it was the worse of the 3, but I still liked it.
A lot of people I talk with don't like the matrix x_x
That, and a few others kept saying million dollar baby and a beautiful mind were boring and put them to sleep, I thought they were excellent movies :( as well as gladiator
Though, as for stupid comedies, I don't know why I love not another teen movie so much. That movie makes me laugh every time, and I know it isn't good, but it holds a little spot right in my heart.
Matrix was awesome, Million Dollar Baby sucked. Whoever that main chick is is easily the worst actress in my opinion. Hate her.
Well I can't help but suck *** and <3 her :(
Matrix was awesome, Million Dollar Baby sucked. Whoever that main chick is is easily the worst actress in my opinion. Hate her.
Silly back assward Canadian.. The Matrix blows.
Matrix was awesome, Million Dollar Baby sucked. Whoever that main chick is is easily the worst actress in my opinion. Hate her.
Not a pink ranger fan, eh?
THAT'S RIGHT HILARY SWANK, I KNOW ABOUT YOUR DIRTY LAUNDRY.
Pink Ranger was the worst. Green Ranger, however... man. My hero when I was a kid.
Does anyone hate Mars Attacks? Because i really love that movie. After i saw it in the movie theater i had only one request for a present on my 14th birthday, and that was Mars Attacks.
Pink Ranger was the worst. Green Ranger, however... man. My hero when I was a kid.
Gold armor, solo zord, dragon sword; the green ranger made all the other rangers look bad. My favorite was Billy until the Green ranger showed up. Besides the pink ranger, the red ranger always seemed like a jack *** to me.
I watched Power Ranger religiously as a kid and i can safely say that Hillary Swank was not the pink ranger, they look alike though. I will also concur that Tommy was the coolest ranger. His sword doubled as a flute. Win.
Who the **** is Amy Jo Johnson? Nah, let's just say Hilary Swank.
Big Fish was really a great movie. doesn't get enough praise for how great it is.
and I really liked the entire matrix series. I can understand why others don't, but I'm a sucker for sci-fi trilogies.
It's Burtons biggest critical and box office flop which is suprising if you watch Sweeny Todd amirite?
Yeh I enjoyed that film but Big Fish is his best, if only because he gave up the faggy art style for once.
Big Fish was really a great movie. doesn't get enough praise for how great it is.
Second'd..
Anything with Zombies. I'm, for lack of a better term, a Zombie Fanboy. I love everything to do with zombies. I don't know where this addiction came from, but I'm totally one hundred percent in love with Zombies films. From the absolute worst to the top dollar movies. A lot of people say that the stories are all the same and that the movies all end the same, but I'm so into them for some reason. Even I notice that I hear/read the same lines over and over again. But I can't help it, I'm in love with the Living Dead (not vampires I hate them).
Another movie that I catch stuff about is The Breakfest Club. I don't care how gay anyone calls me this is a good movie.
Breakfast Club is awesome. Pretty sure a lot of people really like it.

Yeah, Vampires are ****ing lame..but living dead? That's where a lot of people get the two confused; Zombies and Vampires. Vampires are the UNdead, being that they were never deceased or atleast expired for a considerable amount of time before they turned. Where as Zombies would be considered living dead because they were at once dead (a Zombies course of turning requires a slightly larger time frame to kick in, unless you like that sped up- accelerated viral garbage they've been feeding us for the past two decades), expired of life and then re-animated back into the role of a living being. Mummies also fall into the living dead genre, but not so much that of a Zombie. More like a Ghoul with a purpose.
I'll admit, I am a complete nerd when it comes to monsters and fictional creatures.
Breakfast Club is awesome. Pretty sure a lot of people really like it.
Breakfast Club ftw..
Breakfast Club is awesome. Pretty sure a lot of people really like it.
I think it was the music people had a problem with.
Public opinion was in favour of clubs at breakfast. You guys are crazy.
Music was awesome too.
don't don't don't DON'T,
Doooon't yoooou,
forget about meee.

Nono don't say it! I'll like it now. In the midst of being called a faggot over the internet, I'll quickly change my mind.
Truth be told, I have nothing against Simple Minds.
I went back and watched Wild Wild West.
I stand corrected. That film is turd.
But Loveless and the giant spider are still awesome.
the incredible hulk(not the newer one)
its not my favorite move, but i liked it a lot.
Not a pink ranger fan, eh?

Dumbass, Amy Jo Johnson was the Pink Ranger.. Hilary Swank was the Next Karate Kid.
Get ya' fakks right yo'..

I saw it the other night too, I don't get it. Dialog was good, very funny, awesome effects and the steampunk stuff was cool. What's the problem?
Don't you get to see a peak of Salma Hayek's ass in that movie too?
Yeah, very good film.
I have lots of those...(I don't know what's already been said, so yeah)
-That new Speed Racer movie (Waaaay underrated in my opinion, and I'll probably see it several more times)
-Ocean's 12 (prolly just cuz my man Vincent Cassel's in it)
-Derailed (same reason as above, just add the pretty face of Clive Owen)
-Elektra (prolly just because Goran Vinjsic or however you spell his last name is so nice to look at...meow)
All I can think of right now...
I like Jackie Chan movies more than any other martial arts movies. He's like the ultimate nice guy and in my opinion a much better entertainer than the likes of Jet and Bruce.
I agree.
I've said this many times before. The last scene in Jackie Chan's Drunken Master is the best choreographed fight scene in the history of martial arts cinema. Don't believe me? just watch:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ijbax3CxoQ
And yes, that was actual burning coal he crawled into and out of.
Love that scene!
Jackie Chan made Drunken boxing look awesome.
