Snake Eyes for Best Halloween Costume 2009?

Posted by Old_Snake

I wonder how they'll do Cobra Commander?

Posted by Bebop

Looks like costumes from a Stargate episode.

Haha-

edit:
I wonder how they'll do Cobra Commander?
It's a little disappointing, at this point.

Posted by Old_Snake

As long as he has the mask and the raspy voice of old, I'll be fine with it. Of course, they probably won't, so I won't be fine with it

Posted by Dexter

Cosplayers are going to be fanatical over these outfits.

Try and look up the back story they have scripted for Cobra Commander, it's kind of cliche and sad.
edit: could've sworn there was a wiki..
Stephen Sommers will direct (here's hoping he reigns in the CG), from a script by Stuart Beattie. The story is set at Brussels-based GIJOE, an acronym for the Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity, and revolves around an international co-ed force of operatives who use high-tech equipment to battle Cobra, an evil org headed by a Scottish arms dealer. --Real Movie News 11/20/07

This has since changed due to overwhelimg negative response from fans and even servicemen.

GiJoe is once again "A real american hero", not an international UN type organization according to Hasbro-

Now all is back to what GI Joe should be and will hopefully remain!

Glad that **** was ditched, sounded too much like a shotty NBC original.

Cobra Commander unofficially appeared in the third season of the Transformers cartoon (1986), in the episode "Only Human". Set in the then-future year 2006, a trenchcoated figure going by the name "Old Snake" is approached by crime lord Victor Drath, who wishes to purchase synthoid technology, as seen in a few episodes of the GI Joe cartoon series. Old Snake transfers the minds of Rodimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, Arcee and Springer into synthoid bodies, leaving their robotic shells for Drath's use in criminal activities.
Although it is never explicitly stated, several details make it clear enough that "Old Snake" is actually an aged Cobra Commander: his raspy voice is provided by Chris Latta (the voice of Cobra Commander), he wears the character's distinctive silver mask, and has visible traces of his blue uniform underneath his trenchcoat. He is identified in dialogue as the former leader of a terrorist organization that utilized synthoid technology. Most tellingly of all, the episode concludes with Old Snake lamenting that "they simply don't make terrorists like they used to," raising his fists in skyward exaltation with the familiar "Cobra!" battle cry breaking prematurely into a hacking cough.
Old Snake appears to be wearing the gauntlets of Serpentor (in black rather than Serpentor's dark green). This is contrary to the series' production bible, which notes that his bare fingers should be visible through torn gloves, and that his skin is scaley, like that of a real snake (The animation of this Transformers episode, as with a good half of season 3 episodes, is not stellar, so this costume detail may be simple misinterpretation.).

Poster is really cool if you take out the dude's face.

I'm glad i never watched any of the G.I Joe stuff or else I'd probably be *****ing about these pictures. I only know about Snake Eyes and i guess he looks pretty cool in this from what i remember. So since i don't know what the other people are supposed to look like i'd say those pics look alright.
Poster is really cool if you take out the dude's face.

Yeah, he does come off as someone who's about to take a giant **** on the big screen. Don't ya' think?

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

I don't know what it is... he just looks goofy.

Posted by Dexter

Isn't he the goofy guy from Doom? That was a goofy film.

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

The Rock? Nah, some other goofy guy.

Posted by Dexter

No, the other goofy guy from Doom. The gooder one.

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

oh, idk. They were all pretty goofy.

Posted by Dexter

Now you made me look it up. I was wrong. I thought he was Karl Urban. He's not. He's some guy named Channing Tatum. Oh, he was in She's the Man and his name was Duke in there too. Now that was a fun film.

lol. He's also in an upcoming film called Parkour.

"A New York cop goes undercover in the world of Parkour, AKA free running, in order to track down a gang of sly bank robbers."

This sounds far better than G.I. Joe.

Posted by Tyler Durden

That sounds like every sequel to any Eddie Murphy flick from the 80's.. ****ty.

Posted by Dexter

Eddie Murphy doesn't parkour! He's got the MPD.

Posted by Tyler Durden

Speaking of parkour, Banner was kind of in the zone down in Brasil (in TIH)-
amirite?

Are you ready for G.I. needs-larger-breasts
You have to give him props for his bluntness. The Daily Dish reports that British actress Sienna Miller had to wear fake breasts for her role in forthcoming action movie "G.I. Joe".

Was it vital to the plot? Miller says "(I wear a) tight black leather outfit. And much bigger boobs. They gave me these things that looked like chicken fillets. The director said, 'I'm gonna be honest, I like girls with big boobs,' and I don't have them so we made them bigger. At least he's honest. But I was mildly offended."

Miller plays femme fatale The Baroness in the upcoming movie based on the popular toys and TV series.

Not sure if that Daily Dish is reliable as I find this somewhat hard to believe, but I thought it was worth a giggle.

So there was a G.I. Joe/Transformers crossover? That's awesome

Only makes sense, Chris Latta did the voices for both Cobra Commander and StarScream.

Well, at least something great came out of this film.

I guess, I mean I didn't think sharing voices was big enough deal to cross franchises over, but yeah I guess

Posted by Tyler Durden

Well-
G.I. Joe and Transformers both shared same/similar:
toy productions (Hasbro)
voice actors
animated entertainment entity (SunBow Productions)
comic entity backing (Marvel)

Posted by Old_Snake

Well, yeah, all that stuff combined makes a crossover make sense, still seems kind of odd combo. Awesome, though

I AM SICK AND TIRED OF DENNIS QUAID

Posted by Dexter

No way. He's like Ed Harris to me. Can't tire of guys like that.

Posted by Tyler Durden

Oh yes you can!

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

Dennis Quaid is awesome.
