X-Men Origins: Wolverine-

is filming.
An upcoming film based on the fictional Marvel Comics character Wolverine, due for release on May 1, 2009. The film is directed by Gavin Hood and stars Hugh Jackman as the title character. It is a prequel to the X-Men film trilogy, focusing on the mutant Wolverine and his time with Team X, before Wolverine's skeleton was bonded with the indestructible metal adamantium. The film is mostly being filmed in Australia and New Zealand.

Set seventeen years before X-Men, the film will focus on Wolverine's violent past, and his early encounters with William Stryker. The Weapon X program and his interactions with other mutants will be explored, including his complex relationship with Sabretooth / Victor Creed.

Hood speculated that there could be a sequel, which may be set in Japan. Such a location was the subject of Claremont and Miller's series, which was not in the first film as Jackman felt “what we need to do is establish who [Logan] is and find out how he became Wolverine". The inclusion of Deadpool and Gambit also leads to the possibilities of their own spin-offs.

With Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool-
Awesome, but seriously...Liev Schreiber as Sabertooth?

Sounds good to me! The X-Men Sabertooth sucked in my opinion.

Yeah, I agree somewhat.
Tyler Mane wasn't exactly what I would call talent. I mean, the guy is an ametuer professional wrestler by trade, and barely keeping his head above water in the acting business. I've only noticed him g/a'ing in a few sitcoms, and other than X-Men; Joe Dirt.

Liev Schreiber, on the other hand, brings an intellectual character to ol' Tooth. Which, Sabertooth needs that. He needs to be mouthy, he needs to be cunning, he needs to be a sadistically intriguing figure with the sense of a sociopathic killer.

yeah, dude. X-Men tooth was 2-d at best. I mean, the character itself sucks anyways, no point in making him worse.

It's gonna have Omega Red, right? If it's the Team X storyline, it pretty much has to.

Toothy didn't get better as a character until the X-Men captured him and held him in the Westchester mansion, with Wolverine on guard.

In issue 90, before all that Onslaught garbage:
We see Sabertooth pushing Wolverine verbally, abusing his character to the limits with just words. Just enough to make Wolvie snap and release Tooth for a balls to the wall finish. One of the most memorable cliffhangers I can recall to this day in comics. Left me believing that Wolverine had finally succeeded, finally killing his longest and most feared rival.

I just hope the film has the two of them going at it, in that direction-
with ST getting some kind of word in, to show that his is a complete ****ing nut.

I can only hope so, OR is an under rated enemy in the X universe. I've always liked reading about his battles against the early Weapon X'ploits, and throwing down with OR in Children of the Atom.

Anywho-
here's a solid site with more of the scoop. PICTURES on set.

Stryker is a vampire. Confirmed.

Posted by BLUNTMASTER X

what the ****

Stryker is supposed to be a fundie reverend with no powers. I mean, jeez, it was bad enough that they made him a Colonel in X2, but this is just taking the **** biscuit. Stryker as something he feared and hated? naaaah

Haha Vamp-
but, no. That's a still they used from 30 Days of Night.

Although, it could make Stryker out to be a sexy mentor for Logan-san if he were an actual vampire. Hopefully, they place Cyber in the film (somehow) aswell. One of Wolvie's more lethal and feared opponents (other than Bloodscream).

fake.

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

I don't even know why they're using that dude. He sucked in 30 Days of Night. In fact, the movie itself was boring as ****.

Posted by Tyler Durden

I couldn't even get through the first 20 minutes of it, on Peekvid.. yeah, I watch "stolen" flicks when I feel they're not worth my money.

Don't talk **** about these things, Roger!

Uhh...wow. I must be the only who sees it. In that image, his claws look ****ing stupid. The claws look like they're just photoshoop's onto the top of his hands.

No, I see it too. It looks awful.

Do you seriously want me to seal your mouth shut with crazy glue, and a bag full of cocks?

Posted by BLUNTMASTER X

Man, why must movie Wolverine always wear a white wifebeater?

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

cause he's tough

Posted by Tyler Durden

Because Gaijin Wolverine wore them, once when he returned to Japan with Shang Chi. And he WAS tough.

It's a little known fact about wife beaters, they make you look and smell ten thousand more times as badass.. just watch COPS, and you'll know.

edit: Wife beater + Wolverine searching for his wife = many, many asses got shanked in that arc.
