21- (Bringing Down The House)

A group of us on Wed. got to see a screening of the movie 21. It's the one where the MIT students go to Vegas to count cards in Blackjack. It was based off the book Bringing Down The House. Has anyone read it? or seen any previews for the movie? I thought it was pretty exciting.

I've only seen the previews. Looks like an ok movie. I'll probably go see it if I have nothing better to do.

The Last Casino (the original canadian film based on this story) was really good actually, so I don't see why this one shouldn't be even better.

That's interesting, I had no idea there was a Canadian version of this that was made first. I'd love to check that out and see how it compares, if they left out stuff or did stuff differently.

It looks like it focuses more on the one math genius kid in 21, unlike Last Casino which focuses on the professor more. Otherwise, 21 will probably be just more Hollywood, but likely the same.
