idk if you guys are into anime that doesn't have SUPER KAWAIIII NANI DESU KA **** in it, but I just watched the first 15 episodes of Kaiji yesterday. It's a strangely stylized anime about gambling, with players wagering their lives to clear the huge debts they owe to the Yakuza. The first arc concentrates on a game of... Restricted Rock Paper Scissors. I'd really advise checking out it - it plays out similar to most Shonen anime, and has a similar DONT ****ING GIVE UP NO MATTER WHAT vibe to stuff like Gurren Lagann.
