What an xfire? Some kind of game playing time logger?

It's a messenger program that works inside of games. Basically if I'm playing something fullscreen I don't have to close the game to talk to people not playing the same game.
Logging game time is just a secondary feature.
Okay, got it.. Seems cool. It works with stand alone games too? or just MMO games?
Generally the rule is if it's a game you pay for or takes you into fullscreen it'll work.
Only exception is with extremely obscure games.
