I got Skate Or Die (lose) from an online auction and Kickle Cubicle (lose) from my local Easy Cash store.
My newest possession is the Power Pad... I haven't been able to buy anything lately, and that was purchased last summer... I can't wait to get some more money!
I got three new games after school today.
Mission Impossible (C+)
T&C Surf Design (E)
Quarterback (D)
grr, none of them are really high on the rarity list. This puts my NES total around 177.
Little Mermaid (B)
Lode Runner (B)
I already beat Little Mermaid on my first try while watching The Grudge. I think I had infinite lives, so I guess that is not too much of an accomplishment. Was it my television or was Ariel's hair purple? Flounder should have been in it more.
And Lode Runner is excellent. I had no idea what it was like when I got it. It just felt right to choose that one out of the huge selection I had before me. It is one of those clever games that takes me in with such weight and doesn't let me go. I adore these ingenious perplexing games. I'll have some great times with this one.
That doesn't sound like the same game. In this game, you are running around little levels, climbing ladders and digging holes, collecting gold while evading a few malicious enemies that look like the original Bomberman.

I got some more games today after work.
Galaga (B)
Whomp Em (B)
Whomp Em is such a great game. It has a Mega Man format where you choose what levels you want to do first and get the weapons from whatever boss is within that level. The fighting style closely resembles that from the Adventures of Link where you could jump up and down pointing your sword (spear) towards such directions. You play as a little Indian. I'm going through the game now. It seems easy enough where I will have it defeated in a few hours, depending on how much time I put into it while I do other activities.
Is it anything like the computer game? I had Lode Runner on my old Compaq/Windows 95 computer and it was a great puzzle game with tons of little weapons and trinkets to collect.

Lode Runner (in it's first release) Atari 2600 - 1983
LA, that's because your memories of Lode Runner, aren't in fact based upon the original (which is, itself a remake of the Atari 2600 version). Lode Runner has seen many face-lifts. Perhaps the least memorable is the PSX release, which like it's predecessors, went un-charted among other titles. A very under-rated series if you ask me.
Stanley and the Search for Dr. Livingston (B)
Terra Cresta (B+)
I have not played them yet. I'll probably play them later on tonight while I watch Absolute Power.
Mission Impossible
Gradius
Roller Games
Target Renegade
Eliminator Boat Duel
Nintendo World Cup
M.U.S.C.L.E.
Palamedes
Al Unser Jr. Turbo Racing
Bill Elliot's NASCAR Challenge
and my two more happier pickups
Shockwave (AGCI Game)
Impossible Mission II (American Video Entertainment Game)
171 games.
Also, hilariously enough, the logo on "Eliminator Boat Duel" is misprinted on the top as "Elimonator Boat Duel." I saw a baseball game at the same store earlier today called "Legends of the Diamond" with another misprint, as "Legends of the Daimond."
Later
Look what I got yesterday. Vindicators! It is a killer tank game. When I get home tonight I am going to beat it! :link:
I got Batman a few days ago. Now that I have Batman and Batman: Return of the Joker, I need to find Batman Returns. Then I will have all three Batman titles. I only played it for about 5 minutes. I look forward to getting some time to actually sit down and try to defeat it, although I hear it is a incredibly difficult game to overcome.
Yea, Batman is an immensely challenging title. One of my mother's ex-boyfriends creamed it though, in about an hour. A true talent, he used to beat all my games and make me feel like such a loser.
I just got The Barb's Tale and 1942 about an hour ago. I hear The Barb's Tale is an excellent game, although I don't know much about it myself. I need to catch up in my gaming life so I can play some of the newer games I have been getting. Hopefully I'll be able to finish up a few of the adventures I am in the midst of with the Game Cube (Resident Evil Zero/007 Nightfire), then quickly move on to Batman and so forth. I expect I will have over 200 NES games by the middle of summer, but it definitely doesn't end there.
Ohh!?.. You mean The Bard's Tale. Looks like a promising 'true' role-player from the days of yore. Allthough not something I could find myself getting inthrawed in too often. But, best of luck with it Dex..
*oscar* ...enjoy.
Well, the last item that I bought for my NES is a new RF adapter. The one that I had just suddenly started showing an awful lot of fuzz on my screen and was beginning to short out occasionally.
I got CRYSTALIS :link: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v20/neofreak9193/05.jpg
Just won an Action 52.
My latest NES "grail" on the quest towards completion

I picked up Fantasy Zone and Strider the other day. I think that gives me about 188 NES games.
Last night I received a message from the lady who works at the pawnshop telling me that they received a new, gigantic load of NES games, so I am going to swing by after school today and see what they got for me. It is pleasant having them inform me when they get new games. It helps me grab the good ones before someone else does, I guess. The mysteriousness and the excitement I feel is splendid.
I got Snakes Revenge and Werewolf: The Last Warrior. Two terrific games that I finally got to add into my collection, forcing my number to hit 190. I have not been able to give either game a decent amount of my time due to the intense battles I have been having with some of my previous games. I really look forward to playing Snakes Revenge and being a werewolf will be a radical experience.
Where do you guys buy most of your NES games? I really only know of one local store that may carry a few titles, but hardly any at all. I would love to buy more titles, but I suppose I'm going to have to look online for them.
I have never gotten an NES game online before. I currently find myself exploring various pawnshops in many different locations. Some of them have my cell number and leave me messages whenever they get new games in, occasionally telling me every title to let me know ahead of time if it is worth my time or not. There are about 3 major pawnshops I check regularly, which receives new games almost weekly. I suggest you visit a few pawnshops and see what they got. You may be surprised.
Hmm, I actually don't know of any pawnshops offhand, but I'm sure my parents do. I'll have to check some of them out, thanks.
The latest game I got was Tecmo NBA Basketball. I think it is one of the best basketball games for the Nintendo Entertainment System.
kk, I got some new ones yesterday. Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego, Mickey Mousecapade, and Kid Niki: Radical Ninja. That's three new ones giving me a total of 193!
Kid Niki was fun. It had numerous enjoyable, sometimes frustrating obstacles, especially that episode when they introduced the bubbles. I defeated this game earlier this morning. Interesting how the game contained a bamboo-like level. A film I watched last night, House of Flying Daggers, also had elements of bamboo. I'm sure there is some significant meaning behind the bamboo. It must symbolize something in which they incorporate it into these things. I'm interested in finding that out. Sometimes, while playing, I would get tweaked up and start thinking I'm playing as Davy Crockett. Must be the hair looking like a lifeless raccoon. Anyway, I found this game more satisfying than, let's say, The Legend of Kage or Ninja Kid. Atta Boy!
I've yet to pay it so I'm not really having it right now, but I got offered a copy of RC Pro-AM. It's not a rare game or anything but I really like it and it's still missing in my collection. Can't wait to play it!
That game is terrific, probably the best racing game for the NES. I am glad to have it in my collection. It was one of the original games I had in my collection from the early NES years. I guess there is a sequel out there somewhere that I believe is much rarer than the original.
Dexter how do u find so many nes games its not fair and my game shops have so few of them :( -sigh- u are one lucky person, i dunno what a pawn shop is lol (im in uk) and how did u get them to phone you! cool! do they specialise in nes games or something?
haha. No. It really isn't that complicated. Pawnshops are places where people go to sell their things, such as guns, movies, CDs, VCRs, TVs, etc. I have never been one to sell anything there, but I do visit them often, usually only for games. There are so many around me, I still have not been to them all. There are a few places, however, that is constantly getting new games in. At least a few a week. They are also the ones that are on the road between my house and where I go to school, so I am able to go there often. Lately, I have been going about once a week and getting new games. I have gone there so often and have gotten to know the people who work there, which makes things a bit easier. They usually (always from my personal experience) have a way where you can give them your name and number and tell them to call you whenever they get new games in, unless they get them almost every day or something. Just in case something amazing I have been looking for comes in with one of the other pawnshops that I don't visit often, they'll call me up and I can make a trip, assuming the trip would be worth it. I see numerous games that I don't already possess, but I usually limit myself to only a few each time I visit, perhaps to make this adventure last longer. Also, I only get a few at a time because I like to defeat the ones I obtained previously before I move on to new ones.
Just ask your parents and friends about pawnshop/second hand shop type places that may carry NES games. Maybe they are just rarer where you live. One of these days I plan on going to Portland, which is only about an hour from my school, and visiting numerous pawnshops to see what they have. I imagine there are some huge places that would hold a gigantic amount of NES games for me to choose from. Garage sells might also be worth checking out occasionally, although I don't have much experience with those.
Thanks for the tips Dext :D and yeah from what your saying that you see alot of nes games in pawn shops etc. they sound common over USA but in UK they are like gold dust lol seriously, the only older games i can get hold of are Dreamcast and N64 in game shops (if im lucky) and then just the new ones being released for the future systems even though i have all 3 (Ps2,GC,Xbox) i still want the classic titles for my older consoles like the NES, SNES and Sega Mega Drive
I picked up Dick Tracy the other day in the mall, along with a few Game Cube games. That gives me 194 NES games. I'll certainly hit the 200 mark by the middle of summer, perhaps sooner.
i got alien vs predator 2 and super metroid back yesterday. i used to own them before, but i got robed, and those along with sum other stuff got taken. it's cool to have them back, but they're only half as interesting as they were a few years ago. super metroid seemed super easy when i played it this morning. pretty cool.
i finally have my bartman vs radioactive man in uk pal format, i've had it in ntsc usa format for about 2 years now, but i have finaly aquired the uk version, which was thanks to my mother realy being on ebay at the right time :D
so now i only need 3 more for a complete uk version set, they are donkey kong, fantastic dizzy and quatro adventure, im mainly looking for the cart versions of the last two titles there, im not including plug thru's as main games because of how they need another title piggy backed game genie style, allthough they are relative in my collecting, so in essence i would need 7 more to my total if i included all known uk plug-thru's
once i have the full set im going to look out for all the known european and australian only titles
once i have all of those i'll start hunting down any american games i need plus brazillian and maybe even the asian/hong-kong ones
wow, that is certainly a very dificult goal to acheeve. good luck buddy.
i just won two copies of tengens tetris on ebay :D
I got Sesame Street 123 a few days ago. Now I got 123 and ABC. I'm sure there is another, though.
Big Bird Hide & Speek Hi Tech B
Sesame Street 1-2-3 Hi Tech C+
Sesame Street 123/ABC Hi Tech B
Sesame Street A-B-C Hi Tech C+
Sesame Street Countdown Hi Tech A-
according to the mike etler list countdown is the rarest one there mate, it shares the same rating as tengens tetris
and it's harder to find than dragon warrior 4
I got RC Pro A.M in the mail. Didn't find the time to actually play it but I know it's a great game. Me happy!
my two copies of tengens tetris finally arrived this morning

im so happy :D
im still waiting for my copy of bartman radioactive man to arrive
but i did manage to secure myself a copy of super adventure quests (quatro adventure), leaving just the single donkey kong and fantastic dizzy to complete the full uk set
over the past few days my bartman meets radioactiveman and super adventure quests have arrived
i also got blues brothers and little league baseball on import
and very very soon i should get the last two games im needing for the full uk set

Haven't played it yet, but I got Double Dragon 3 the other day. Now I have 1 and 3, so I must find number 2.
I've been falling behind. I should make some time after school today to go out on an adventure and get a few games. I'm nearly at 200!
4 x boxed:

2 x controllers in very good condition
1 x light gun
All of these things for
also I have Double Dragon 3 Haven t played it yet but I got Double Dragon 2 is nice game also I have Double Dragon 2 for turbo duo
I got Dungeon Magic and Yoshi's Cookie the other day. I've never played Dungeon Magic before but I have played plenty of Yoshi's Cookie in my time. I'm glad I have both Yoshi titles now. Dungeon Magic had the goldish sticker on the back, so I assume it will have saved files included. It seems that is what those goldish stickers represent, but I'm not sure. Anybody know what those are suppose to mean?
Also, that Double Dragon 3 game is superb. At first I found it quite irritating, probably because of the severe difficulty and lack of the actions working properly. Now, however, I have grown fond of it. The difficulty has brought me into the adventure more personally and I am looking forward to eventually defeating the game. This will probably drag me back to the first Double Dragon to defeat it, since I never did. I've gotten all the way to Japan. I'll probably get further and further with each try until I finally conquer it. After you make it past that first level, you feel more confident and seem to have more control over yourself. I hope to find Double Dragon 2 sometime, along with the Double Dragon/Battletoads game by Rare. I've been looking for that one for a long time now. I'll also have to see the Double Dragon movie. Maybe I'll get that for tonight.
Anyway, my collection should be at 200 now or nearly there. I'm going to get a few more games this coming up weekend. Hope I find some excellent ones.
Nice to hear someone playing DDIII. I love that game. I STILL haven't conquered it, but have been playin' the smeg out of it recently. Sounds like you're on a DD kick right now :P I have some Double Dragon comics, actually haha

Bought 10 games last week. Put them in my collection and already forgot which ones they were. This officially puts me over 200 games. Images coming when I find free hosting.
P.S. Baz, you still lacking a grey copy of the original Legend of Zelda? I'll swap you for Tengen Tetris.
Later
I got the grey version of the Legend of Zelda yesterday for 5 bucks. I already have the gold versions of Zelda and Link's adventure, but I'd like to get the grey versions. I hear that the grey Link's Adventure is rarer than the grey Zelda.
I've seen way more grey copies of The Adventure of Link than I have of The Legend of Zelda, but that could be just my area. I've only seen grey Legend of Zelda carts twice (bought it both times) and I've probably seen a dozen or so The Adventure of Link carts. If I see one again you want to trade or something?
Later
You find another, and the offer's still on the table.
Later
This is probably my favorite thread ever!!!! I just read through all of the posts since the start of this thread, and you guys have just given me my motivation back to continue my collection of NES games. Thank You All Very Much!!!!!
I know how you feel, Jannetty. Looking through this thread virtually always puts me in the mood to go NES hunting. I want my NES game number to reach 250 by summer of 2006. Probably an easy goal, but we'll see how I do. I'll probably go do a little hunting tonight, if the opportunity presence itself.

Contra
Ninja Gaiden II
Gradius
Life Force
X-Men
Skate or Die
Kirby's Adventure
Blaster Master
Bought myself a NES Advantage and two games, Bucky O Hare and Digger T Rock.
I got Palamedes. I saw a top-view of the game while browsing a local collection and while I slightly recognized the name for being listed mediumly rare off a few rarity lists, I took it as more as an adventure game, rather than the puzzle game it happened to be. With a name that screams Greek Mythology, one would expect something perhaps similar to Athena. A look at the cover, however, altered my previous prediction. I could tell right away that it was going to be an odd game.
Now I'm interested in the history of Palamedes. I somehow associate his name with Troy, but I'm not even sure if they have much connection at all. I suppose I'll have to do a little research later.
yeah paid too much, but is rare adventure of link zelda 2 grey color in new york
Star Tropics, is nice game
Yeah, I live south of NY. Once upon a time, there used to be shelves at Game Crazy lined with [The Adventures of Link] grey carts. They had so many of them, that they were pratically having to give them away at $2.99. I got my first grey cart from my fiance's collection, however. Then I later gave it to my sister, [in/w a dupe collection along with console] because she wanted an NES and a few games to play.
I got Linus Spacehead's Cosmic Crusade. It was a gold cartridge with that strange slot in the back. I attempted to get some information on it on the Internet, but I'm having trouble discovering anything of use for it. It seems to be moderately rare. I think it was ranked B on the rarity list, but I would have to check again to make sure. I think there are two different versions of it, one being rarer. I wish I knew which one.
you have any pic of gold cartridge with that strange slot
I haven't actually been able to play it yet. I've been consumed with Metroid Prime 2: Echoes for the last two weeks. When I beat that I may move on to Linus and attempt to defeat it or simply play it and find out what it is all about.
Does it contain a toggle-switch, or does it seem that you can insert a mini-cart into it?
Maniac Mansion
The Gaurdian Legend
Low G Man
The Adventures of Bayou Billy
EDIT:
Final Fantasy with instructions manual. Bought at a local junk shop for $5.00
The cartridge is very nice, but the cover on the manual has some minor creases from normal use.
Aside from the Dragon Warrior III game I picked up at the goodwill, this is the only game I have that came with the manual.
[A signed] Impossible Mission-II still in box w/book

I got Big Bird's Hide & Speak today for 5 bucks. B rarity. Claims to be the first talking game for the NES. I got three Sesame Street games now. I think there's only one more.
When cleaning out a guy's musty garage, my dad uncovered a box of about 50 NES games. He had a friend helping him clean it up and the friend said he wanted the games as payment for his help. My dad thought the games to be of no value, so he told the friend that he could have them. He later explained the situation to me, and I told him to please try and get the games back so I could have them. I've even offered to buy them from the friend for a few bucks each. He refused to give them to me, and my dad is negotiating with him at present, trying to make a trade for some power tools and things of that nature. What a dad!
I'm not sure what titles are in there, but I'll be there must be a few that I don't have. I'm always trying to expand my collection, you know?
So I'll let all of you know how that whole thing goes. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Hopefully my collection will have expanded greatly in a short few days.
Yeah, The Krion Conquest.. I'm actually, currently looking for that one myself. As for my latest hunt, I turned out a complete [box/book] of Double Strike [by American Video Entertainment], an easy B+. I'll post pics later..

Karate Champ came in the mail today. :)
NES Queen has recently gotten me into ROMS. I've been wanting to play Bubble Bath Babes and the rest of the Dragon Warrior games too bad and they are simply too difficult to find or too expensive, although I still plan on adding them to my collection. I got a controller today because it is too difficult to play games using the keyboard. I've already gotten Chip and Dale 2, Bubble Bobble 2, Mega Man 6, RC Pro 2, and various other games that I've never been able to find and play. I'm not sure what adventure I want to defeat first. Overload!
I just got aladdin deck enhancer new never open for $10

I finally got Mega Man 6. Haven't been able to play it yet but I'm sure it's going to be an enjoyable adventure. I actually don't hear much about it, but it is the rarest of the NES Mega Mans. Now the only NES Mega Man I don't have is Mega Man 4, but that shouldn't be too difficult to find. The cover art was nice. It looked like Mega Man went into medieval times and became a knight!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=170036566446&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=007
Total ended up being $9.45
Pretty good though eh?
I got my copy of Star Tropics from a pawn shop, years ago.
I can't get past the boss in the graveyard. Lame.
I got mine at a pawn shop for about 5 bucks. I'm stuck at the part where you have to play the piano. I know I'm playing the proper keys, but it doesn't seem to work! :(
I got Star Tropics 2 earlier this year, but I refuse to start it until I finish the first.
i got my copy like 12 years ago for $20 at a toys 'r' us.
did the copy you got on ebay have the awesome paper in the instructions that you're supposed to dip in water?
I got Big Nose The Caveman. I saw it and I was sure I remember it being incredibly rare, so I got it.
YAY, I got Star Tropics today!
It even came with the offer for 12 Issues of Nintendo power for $30 (Such a great deal!)
Talk about reverse inflation. You can get the 12 issues for $20.00 now...
I'd like to get the very first issue of Nintendo Power.
I picked up the original Adventure Island today for 5 bucks. Now I have the first, second, and fourth (for super NES)!
Good Deal! I don't think I have ever played those games before. I would like to try them sometime though.
I already posted this in my blog, but I may as well post it here too.

Adventure Island for the TurboGrafx-16 version is good
Ninja Gaiden I, II, & III arrived safely in the mail today.
I finally picked up a few new games. Alien 3, Low G Man, and Castlevania 3. That finishes up the Castlevania series for me on the NES. Looking forward to going through it and checking out the other games. These are the first games I've gotten for the last 8 months, I believe.
I finally I got probotector (contra)

Does Gamestop still sell Nintendo (NES) games? That's a deal.
Last game I got was Metal Gear for $5.00. I also have the Metal Gear book to go with it.
I haven't seen Gamestop with NES games for the last 3 years, at least. Maybe certain ones still carry them, but for the most part they're obsolete.
Gamestop of my town still carry gameboy and gameboy color games and gameboy color system now is hard to get a store carry NES games
ebay is the best way to get nes games
you can find mom&pop video game stores that will. There's this place not too far from me called Crazy Gamer I think and it sells Dreamcast, N64, SNES NES games and comics and stuff.
