Having problems with the router

Posted by Crazy K

I'm having trouble setting up my router. I recently purchased the TrendNet TW100-S4W1CA and so far it won't let me run setup. To run setup you need to use Internet Explorer and this link: http://192.168.0.1

I followed all of the steps but I always get the "problem loading page" error. I tried reseting it, and everything the book said. I also checked out TrendNet to see if anything else would work, and thus far no. I also tried downloading a driver for it over at the website, but I had a hard time with the directions.

So is there anyway of getting past this problem?

Also I heard that changing the address of the router, that it might work.

So can anyone help? Because I feel like an idiot trying to set this router up.

Not 100% sure why you'd need to post that. Setting up a router shouldn't be complicated. The link I gave should just allow you to access your router and from there you can configure it using the site you posted, the router's. Right now it's not being detected which is why you, or any of us for that matter, can't access the site, and that link should be able to help.

I don't know, buddy. I have to set up routers and connections every once and awhile and never have to deal with ip configuration. Most are pretty straight forward, and the only time I ever bother with ipconfig is when I have to get a new IP or the like.

Alright man, thanks for the help anyways. :)

I feel like a ****ing idiot. I didn't follow the directions correctly. I had my Cable Modem connected to one of the LAN when it was supposed to connect to the WAN. Well thats all good, now I can get into the admin feature, but I'm still a bit confused with setup. Here are a few pics to help me show you what I mean.

Do I click on Dynamic IP or Static IP?

What do I do here in the Dynamic IP area?

This is also part of the Dynamic IP setup

I'll post this just in case as well. It's part of the Static IP setup

Anyways I went through Dynamic Setup, and finished it, restarted it and I can't access the web. Do I need to use Static IP?

static, it's most likely what you have. Just enter everything you saw in ipconfig into the right areas.

Posted by Vampiro V. Empire

But here, if you have a dynamic IP enter this

Mac address: 00-10-4B-9A-8A-8B

DNS primary: 24.213.60.93
Secondary: 68.115.71.53

IP: whatever was listed
Subnet: same as above
gateway: 75.128.224.1

for some reason they ask for the mac address like everyone's supposed to have a clue what it is. oh well

Yeah I had to do that Dynamic IP setup. I tried the static and it gave me the same error, but after doing the Dynamic IP setup it worked. So yeah, I'll be hooking my 360 up soon. I'll post here if I have problems.
