Wooooo, if that's not the dumbest thing I ever read, I don't know what is.
[quote]With it's "over the net" capabilities virtual orgasmic rape is just the push of a button away.
Hahaha, wow. This is good stuff. But I applaud his courage, it took true bravery to get up on his soapbox while not having a clue what he was talking about.

You should read his rebuttal, too. Apparently he has 'gamer-nerd contacts deep in the industry'. Haha, oh wow.
So is there even sex in the game?
There's sex in every game.

Sorta... I've seen the man/alien and woman/alien scenes on two playthroughs now. No pensises. No va-jay-jays. No bewbs. Just a split second *** shot and some caressing. Less than what was in *** of War or Duke Nukem way back in the 90s.
Yeah, it's like what you see in most movies more or less. Mostly back, some rolling around, lots of quick cuts and that's it.
Here's the scene. If it was obscene, then I wouldn't show it here. It's PG at the worst.

Apparently Fox News has a VERY educated opinion on the subject as well:

I loved how they kept trying to shut up the one guy who knew what he was talking about. And also, boys can't separate the game from reality? Bull****.
Ahaha, Fox News is always good for a laugh.
The main thing that bugs me is that people actually listen to these people. "Oh they haven't played the game? Well I'm sure they still manage to know what they're talking about, yup."

Can't ignore the research! 2 hours of Mass Effect and you'll be rubbing your genitals with this! Can't ignore the research!
fuuuuuuuuuuuck. okay, I just watched it. Wow. Now I remember why people make fun of fox news. I don't think they got a single thing right.
I just like how they made a big deal about the rating only being on the back of the box. It's like they haven't even touched one before. Oh, and how that one chick was basically appalled and laughing when Geoff was like "have you even played Mass Effect?"
***, love journalists.
It's funny how scholarly journals and college texts donate 3 to 5 pages on how the author's experience influences the opinion, basically explaining the "this is just one, and not the only correct, veiw", while Journalists display their work as "the truth". ****es me off.
The 'vidya gaem' expert was pretty intelligent and made some good points. Shame he was yelled over by two airheaded *****es, and then ignored in a roundtable discussion on DIGITAL HARDCORE SEX.
Oh yeah... you don't get his show in the UK most likely. He's pretty respectable and knows what he's talking about, which is why I wasn't surprised that they kept cutting him off. I was half expecting them to just shut his feed down halfway through.
Are "news" programs that are used more for entertainment purposes as popular anywhere else as they are here? I'm just curious if it's more of an American thing, because just about all news programs that aren't local seem to be just that. It's rarely ever about providing information, but more of a stand point under the pretense of "fair and balanced", which we all know is a total lie.
I've heard that the popular Japanese newspapers are usually controlled by the challenger parties more so than the liberal democratic party. The Challenger parties are formed by several parties while the LDP makes up the other 50%. So, the newspaper has been seen to be bias for the challengers. (my sources are 15 years old, could have changed)
Horse****.
no BS, look for yourself. This isn't "secret" at all. Imagin lobbyists having there own political party...that's basically what it's like.
I'm talking about the news report.

EA's response to Fox News. Pretty ****ing awesome.
Owned. I hope they do air a correction, but I doubt they will.
They'll just bring in another "expert" to refute EA's claims.
[quote=EA]As video games continue to take audiences away from television, we expect to see more TV news stories warning parents about the corrupting influence of interactive entertainment. But this represents a new level of recklessness.
Oh jeez. EA just spanked Fox.
But Fox's audience won't care, sadly. A reason Fox has such ****ty coverage is because the audience doesn't know the difference, and judging by how often Fox displays only one side of a story, the audience must like being told what they already think. Fox's rhetoric obviously hasn't had an influence on those who disagree, so it's not about pursuading. This forum has a great expression for that type of news coverage, "circle jerking". Fox news circle jerks their audience.
Needed to be done though. If they don't retract their statement, EA could always sue their asses.
EA is pretty much the only video game company that could hire lawyers good enough to take on Fox in court. I can understand why smaller devs who felt the wrath of their ignorance would be reluctant to do anything, but EA have the power.
EA and Ubi and Activision, that's probably it.
Anywho, FOX is saying they've repeatedly asked EA onto their show, but haven't gotten a reply. Hmm, wonder why? Jeez.
They certainly aren't careful about reporting facts. Fox speculated Ledger died from a cocain overdose because the police found some dollar bills near his body. They retracted their statements after the money was tested to not have any substances, but they broadcasted the story so ****ing long that now many really think he did die of cocain.
Which is pretty ****ing retarded. Apparently you can't have dollar bills unless you're a drug addict.
Yeah, I read about that. Apparently the bills appeared to be rolled up, so they assumed he was a drug addict. At this rate, fox is going to get sued by someone with a ****load of money. Might do them some good.
A little late here, but something in the news broadcast really made me laugh.
"At the end of the day... it's up to parents to control what their kids are seeing."
"It is, unfortunately."
