a simple question that may have been reviewed before. do you think that Blu-Ray, will eventually take over DVD's just like DVD's did VHS'?

Nope, and I don't think HD DVD will either. I think optical discs of all kind are on their way out. Hard drive and online based technologies are the next step, and by the time high definition entertainment becomes ubiquitous, said hard drive and online technology will also be a lot more widespread.
